Elisabeth

Elisabeth Report 17 Apr 2004 07:08

Good morning Peggy. I am Elisabeth and live in Newark. I suppose if I could find a rowing boat I could paddle up the Trent to you and arrive more quickly than driving along the Old Fosse Way, with all it's traffic. It is a dry morning but the sun hasn't peeped out yet as its quite early. I hope it stays dry as I want to cut the lawn - must get dressed first though. The neighbours think I am mad without lawn mowing in my dressing gown. Love to you from the big GC family.

This is my favourite joke [ and it's clean too] Two hungry goats are walking on a dry dusty track. they haven't found anything to eat for days. Then a metal can rolls along. The little goat butts the lid open and out flies some 16mm film - not very appetising, but they are still hungry. The big goat butts the little goat out of the way and gobbles up the film. the little goat asks "what's it like?" and the old goat says "it was good, but not as good as the book!"

Hello Peggy ,my name is Brenda and I live in Manchester and yes it does rain a lot. Katinahat

Katinahat Report 16 Apr 2004 23:53

Hi Peggy, I have just returned from the Isle of Wight. My husband, Ken, and I spent three days there. Just a short break. But, so reviving. Last night we went for a lovely walk. We started off at an old church and kept on walking. The trees were very tall. Sunlight was glittering through the branches and the light was bouncing off the grazing rabbits below. The rabbits were not very close to us but they were aware of our presence. They took the occasional quick glimpse at us but decided we were not a threat and went back to their business. One rabbit spotted us, he was alone and far from the others. He was not sure about us and decided to play statues. We walked right past him and then back again. He did not move. Standing there on his back legs. My Mum (who shares your name - Peggy) and Dad have just returned from Derbyshire, were they spent Easter. They were fortunate enough to witness the births of lambs and a calf.. Mum said the cow was as black as ebony and the calf was a beautiful auburn. The little love was attempting to stand inside of five minutes. Isn't nature beautiful and amazing. Do hope you are having a good day. Take care Love Kathy

Lynda

Lynda Report 16 Apr 2004 23:33

Hallo Peggy My names Lynda and I live in Brighton. Three little Tortoises went it into a Pub, they ordered 3 pints of lager and 3 packets of plain crisps. The barman said "sorry were all out of crisps, but there is a shop on the corner that sells them" The youngest was sent to get them and the other 2 sat and enjoyed their lager. After 2 hours had gone past, one tortoise said to the other "if he doesn't hurry up I'm going to drink his beer" Suddenly from the door of the pub came a little voice "If you do I won't go" Keep your spirits up. I a sending you a smile :) and lots of good thoughts. Love and good wishes Lynda XX
