Dear Norah So sorry to hear of Peggy's death. Your idea of the little tapes was brilliant, and I hope our little anecdotes helped to brighten Peggy's last days. Now she is at peace and hopefully pain free. Our condolences to you and Peggy's other friends and family. Love Sue & family

Hello Peggy - believe it or not but 'its raining in Wales' again!! Alot of my seeds are showing through,but alot did'nt appear at all - l bought some Delphiniums at the market on Sunday - 3 for £2.00 all blues and whites. l think l had 5 seedlings.The chives, l have one!!!! Sweet peas l did'nt plant as a neighbour gave me aload of seedlings and they are coming along brilliantly.The geraniums are doing really well, such gorgeous colours - pinks and purple's.Gypsom nothing yet!! Lettuce,toms,basil and corriandor are coming along ok.Clematis - l bought 4 and they're doing really well.l think thats all. I really hope you are felling better today - Norah keeps us all upto date.Take care. Jude x

Thank you Helen and Lorr. My friend Molly phoned me yesterday after she had been in touch with the hospice, and the good news was that Peggy was feeling a lot better. This morning I posted off another two tapes containing your messages, making a total of 5 now. Thank you to all for your concern. love Norah xx

Hello All, I telephoned the hospice about 30 minutes ago to enquire how Peggy is, and was told that:- "She is a little confused today, but is quite comfortable" I know that Peggy has had sleeping tablets for the last couple of nights, so these on top of her morphine could be making her confused, I hope you will all keep her in your thoughts. She has said how she has loved your messages and how kind you all are. which I confirm wholeheartedly. Hi Peggy, I'm Christine from Auckland New Zealand. I've just read all the messages to you. Everybody seems to have wonderful gardens. I live 5 miles out of the biggest city in New Zealand. But where I live there is only 5 miles between each coast. When I look out my windows on the southern side I only have bush and sea in front of me. This is the Manukau Harbour. I've got two beautiful grandaughters who live next door and they pop in all the time! One is 7 and the other is 4. The littlest one used to delight in sneaking up the stairs early in the morning crying out WAKE UP GRANDAD! Bye for now, Christine

Hi Norah, Thanks for the update, I went to bed early last night and was wondering how things were. How old is Peggy? As you say it could be that Peggy has finally accepted that she is more poorly than she thought. Looking forward to your next update. Helen

Hello All, Phoned my friend Molly tonight as she had been to see Peggy today. Two kinds of news really. The first is that Peggy is looking better than when Molly saw her last. Her breathing appears to be easier, and she had a very good night's sleep. The second is that previously when she has been kept in she has always felt that she was taking up a bed that someone else could use. But now she doesn't feel like that anymore.She is happier in the hospice than being at home and frightened. I am wondering if this is acceptance. She has loved listening to the tapes, and has listened to two so far, so of course, hasn't yet heard all your messages. Again my thanks to you all Norah x

Hello Peggy. we went out to a local garden centre last weekend and, as you do, stopped for a coffee. Would you believe that there is a cheeky robin who actually lives most of the time inside the restaurant, he can get in and out through a small hole near the glass roof. It is like a large greenhouse. He or she is naturally a fat little robin as there are plenty of crumbs to eat, the staff don't have much to sweep up!! then in the main part of the centre where the bird seed is sold there a several large drums of loose birdseed.. One little blue tit does its own shopping and can often be seen dipping its beak into the drum of seed. it is surprising what you see when you keep your eyes open isn't it? thinking of you ann from Gloucester

Hi Peggy - just to let you know l have SOWN THE SEEDS,also a neighbour has given me some Sweet Pea seedlings, so l am now bogged down with gardening.Also trying to fill in a sort of narrow ditch with soil so l can plant my Clematis against the fence and loads of weeds to dig up. Our son is getting married in Aug and my hubby had his first suit fitting on Saturday in Birmingham, very smart.Saw the bridesmaids dresses as well - will definately need a box of tissues on the day - daughter is one of the bridesmaids!!!! :o) Off out now with the dog. Hi Peggy. Whew. We were complaining when it was cold, then when it was raining and now everyone is complaining about the heat. You just can't please us Californians. It reached 90 degrees in my town today. I HATE heat. Actually, it was 90 degrees when I left work today! Should only last for another few days as we only get our heat waves for 3-5 days at a time. The heat must be bothering the critters, too. At work I park under a pine tree and as I was opening my door this morning, a pine needle was attached to a spider web thread and they were moving in the breeze (the needle was level with my door). Odd sight. Then, at one point during the day a tiny spider ran across my desk. He must have known who's desk he was on, as I'm the type to scoop them up and plop them on the table behind me. We have one squirrel who lives in a neighbouring tree (at home) and she didn't even make an appearance today. She visits daily, or even a couple of times a day, looking for peanuts. Actually, we have about three squirrels in the neighbourhood, but she is the only one who comes up to our back door and tries to go into our downstairs room if we leave the door open. Luckily, she's never made it inside. It's getting late and the computer is noisy so off I go. I'm thinking of you and Norah. Love, Lisa

Hi Norah, Glad to hear that Peggys still feeling happy. First things I do when I come on line are to check your Thread and also Baz's in Essex, to see if there is an update on how Peggy and Baz's Mum are. As I said to Baz earlier this evening our thoughts and prayers are with those who are not feeling too good. Keep us updated on Peggy's condition. Love Helen

Hi Wendy and Helen My old school-friend phoned me this evening to tell me that she had phoned the hospice and the person who answered the phone when asked how Peggy was said "Just a minute, I'll just go and ask her" The answer came back "Tired, but happy, give my love to everyone" Thank you so much Norah xx
