Thanks for all your replies. It's interesting to see the variety of songs and that the favourite seems to be the Wind beneath my Wings. It's reminded me of lots of other songs that make me cry too - Against all odds, Good year for the roses, Every time we say goodbye, Unforgettable, Land of hope & glory, Jerusalem (I want that at my funeral!). At my Mum's funeral we chose Walker Brothers singing No Regrets. Scott Walker was her favourite and I thought it an appropriate song as she always said she had no regrets in her life! I have thought of some other weepie songs for me. Smile - Rockin Berries, Even Now & Can't smile without you - Barry Manilow, Sorrow - Merseybeats, Dream a little dream of me - Mama Cass, I don't want to talk about it - Rod Stewart, Miss you nights - Cliff Richard. They all remind me of sad but special times and special people in my life. Sue

Oh man! I cry all the time in the car on the way to work. This morning it was Robbie Williams and Angels and, the son of Hickory Hollers Tramp (don't ask). Has anyone heard that blooming Luther Vandross, "Dance with my Father"? It's the saddest song i've ever heard in my life but gorgeous. I haven't read everyones replies so i apologise if you've already mentioned it. Pam

Hiya Sue There are three for me:- Daddy don't you walk so fast - my mum and dad split up when I was 11 or 12 - they got back together though Nobody's child - about orphans and a child that gets left behind because he can't see - A lump is in my throat now just thinking about it. Somewhere over the rainbow - a friend of mine and my husbands passed away in August last year - she loved going off on day trips and that sog was played at her funeral and the funny thing was - that it was played at the end of the service and nobody but nobody moved until it was finished. Hi Just reading all these messages has brought a lump in my throat. My song that used to bring a tear to my eyes was Yellow by Coldplay as that was played at my uncles cremation in January but one night my friends sang it on Karoake in memory of him so now whenever I hear that song I always try to think of the happy times I had with him as he was a really special guy. Also against all odds by phil collins, the words just reduce me to tear :-) Tx

Seems a few of us share the same songs. I'd have to go with The Rose and Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler and Feel So Near by Dougie Maclean. I always get set off by Flower of Scotland by The Corries and Caledonia by Frankie Miller too... what can I say? I'm proud to be Scots lol. Lou

Thanks everyone because I don't feel so silly now driving home with tears oozing as I listened to Barber's Adagio for Strings. You see, I was thinking about my daughter 'phoning her Dad to say her car had just failed its MOT and remembering that I always shared that domestic calamity with my Dad. I suddenly saw him smiling, knowing he loved this music too and I realized that, although he died in 1995, it doesn't get better and I just had this really strong feeling that it had been far too long since I chatted with him. Sandi, what is it about Grocer Jack? It has exactly the same effect on me! Do you think it is all those kids singing in the background. It has such a feeling of pathos.

Sailing - Rod Stewart (Falklands War although it already brought a lump to my throat before the war) I Can't Live ... if living is without you - Harry Nielsen (one of 'our' songs) Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel (definitely 'our song') Music to the film "'The Mission", can't remember the title but I think it begins with 'C' (daughter danced to it in a competition 16+ years ago) Take a Chance on Me - Abba (daughter and 2 friends always sang it and danced ... and still call it the Baked Bean song ... they thought they were singing about "the baked bean line". Last year the 3 of them were together as bride and 2 bridesmaids and the first music of the evening by special request, was ... I just wonder what the guests thought of the real song title at a wedding!! Finally, Jerusalem, I Vow to Thee my Country, Guide Me O Thy Great Redeemer and Land of Hope and Glory for many reasons (and I always have to watch the Last Night of the Proms). And Abide With Me and the poppies at the British Legion Festival of Remembrance on TV. Sue

I don't know about a song, but I cried like a baby yesterday when I read Gloria Hunniford's 'letter' to her daughter Caron Keating at her funeral. What a sad, sad story. I wonder what songs they played for her?

Has to be Imagine - memories of teenage unrequited love! - and Abide with Me, which we sang at my dad's funeral. If Spurs ever get to an FA cup final again (not holding my breath) I will have tears streaming down my face! Maz. XX

He ain't heavy, he's my brother, by The Hollies, cos my lovely brother has spent most of his life in a wheelchair. Angels, by Robbie Williams, it seemed to play a thousand times the day my beautiful grandson died. There i'm crying now.

I have a few songs, hubby says I cry at the drop of a hat. Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton - It was the song with my 1st bf and reminds me of lost love. You'll Never Walk Alone - usually associate with Hillsbrough disaster and just get very teary Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton - This came out when my Mum died and reminds me of her so much Living Years - Mike & The Mechanics - I cry because I know this reminds my brother of my Dad and he feels he wasn't there enough for him. Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler - the words are just so powerful. All Disney films have me blubbing at some point too.

Dancing Queen by Abba. this was played at my mums funeral. You should have seen the looks i got as it started playing - but my sister and Ichose this as she was always the 1st on the dance floor and the last off - I know she would have approved.

Id Have to Say Guns and Roses - November Rain. Everytime i hear it i wanna cry the words just get to me. A Fewothers that have brought a few tears to me eyes are Against all odds by Phill Colins and Silence by Delirum which was played at my best mates funeral. Shelley
