Baz, I'll remember your mum in my prayers. I remember when I was in nursing an elderly lady, who'd just got a colostomy bag , telling another, "If the Queen Mother can lead a full and happy life with a bag fitted, then so can I" I'm sure with your love and support your mum will come to terms and lead a full and happy life too. Baz, Your Mother, you and your family are in my prayers. My Mother also had to have a bag for approx a year. My grandson, Matt, is 7 and a half years old and he has had a bag since he was 2 days old. He plays football and other sports. When he was 2 years old. The hospital that he was born in operated and performed a reversal but it was unsuccesful and we nearly lost him. Great Ormond Street Hospital performed an emergency operation to resite the bag. Thankfully he made a speedy recovery. But, all through his pain he still remained a bright little love. He is due to go into Great Ormond Street Hospital at the begining of July for a reversal. Take care and God Bless Kathy |

Baz, my heart goes out to you. I know exactly how you feel as the same thing happened to my mum 2 years ago. She was in ITU on a ventilator for 2 weeks and when they took her off she didnt have a clue what had happened. We were all there for her and she amazed the docs by getting out of hospital in 7 weeks. The medical staff are marvelous these days and are so dedicated. My thoughts are with all your family Sheila x |
