Hi I used to go to Southern Grammar School ikn the 50's and my Dad ran the Thatched House at Milton Locks. I have lost touch with some friends especially Yvonne Speller who married a Terry Cole about 1963 I think. She had a sister Teresa and her Dad was manager of Slapes Fish Shop. I would love to contact her again or Wendy Godding whose parents ran the paper shop in Eastney. My name was Diane Connor then. Any old customers or friends I should be delighed to hear from

Julie, Emsworth has changed very little except that now the A27 bypasses the Village altogether. Mind you, the local traffic seems to have made up for it. Were you on Thorney Island? Jim

hi nick, hope your enjoying weather today, and your feeling better, i lived in Emsworth for a year, and due to circumstances at the time it wasnt much fun, we lived on the army camp and i felt isolated. I have nice memories of the little village of emsworth and my son of 2 yrs old then picking up the accent. we used to walk round the harbour and he can remember the toy shop, im sure its all changed now. Enjoy your trip friday. julie newport

Thanks for all your suggestions, I am feeling considerably better than I did this morning. I took a long stroll along the sea front during lunch and then took myself off for a bit of retail therapy!!! A ggod nights sleep with that Hot Toddy is not what I plan to do! Night Night All.xx

Avoid dairy products as they increase mucus production and make you even more stuffed up. Drink plenty of water to release energy to immune system and rest as much as possible to allow the energy to be used on fighting the virus. Vit C in large doses is supposed to shorten the duration and paracetemol helps but remember if you are taking cold preparations to add up the amount of paracetemol so that you do not overdose. I find that a 1000 to 1500m strong swim followed by hot shower and rest works brilliantly. Did it every day with my last cold and was not blocked up and seemed to get over it much quicker. Maybe it was the chlorine! Good memories of Southsea. I was a lifeguard at the Pyramids for a while and lived about five minutes away. Regards Abigail

Besides Olbas oil, I like a combination of peppermint and eucalyptus oils (available from Boots etc) and dab it under my pillow at night, or on a tissue. If you have a lady in the house who owns a facial sauna, these are great for clearing your head if you put oil in the water compartment as well. Or failing all that, just curl up on the sofa with your duvet and feel very, very sorry for yourself :)

Had a summer holiday job at Prom cafe near the rock gardens, -think it's gone now. Oh happy days..... Get plenty of fresh air, perhaps by the coast and sleep in semi - propped position. Olbas oil is a good clearer of stuffiness. Hubby reckons colds clear in about 14 days if you treat them and a fortnight if you do nothing!

Good Morning anyone that's on-line. What a scorcher of a day! Sun is high in the sky and I think it's gonna be busy on the beach today! I've got a bloomin cold and I go away next Friday!! DOh! Anyone got a good cold remedy? Nick x
