The question is. Are you sitting on the side lines because you want to, or do you think you have been left on the side lines. At times life makes you feel like that, overlooked, and undervalued. But then sometimes you can have a good look at what other people are doing around you, and at the right moment for you, get yourself back off those sidelines, and get stuck in again. Your never be lonely on her. Well not for long anyway. Belle.

Hi Lorr Sending you a big friendly hug, sorry to hear you're feeling lonely. Email me any time - due to an illness I only work part-time and don't do a lot else, so am always glad of my email friends to chat to! I usually feel worse in the winter, must admit that the sunshine is helping me feel loads better. Do you live on your own? Got any siblings? Any friendly neighbours? Take care xx

Margaret - it makes me sad to think that anyone else feels like this......when you're low you tend to think you're the only one BUT of course you aren't. Unfortunately I'm one of the 'don't make the most of things' even a lovely day like today has passed me by. I went in my room earlier today and just fell asleep to pass the time. Goodness I sound so full of self pity and I don't mean to, but there must be more to life? x- x

Joanne,Belle and Mandy - Thanks for replying! Belle I don't know if it's because I'm going to be 50 this year? Lost both my parents in just over the last year and I'm realising that I've made a mess of the last 35 years..... I've got a nearly 20 year old daughter. You know what it's like, you look around and imagine that everyone else has got it so right and you've taken all the wrong paths?

Lynda - PLEASE don't feel sorry for me and I'm very glad you're ok. I love it when people are doing ok....That's why I nearly didn't put the thread on, didn't want to be a kill joy. I thought that there might be someone else feeling the same way and perhaps it might do some good to get it off their chest too x - x

Hi Lorr No wonder you're feeling low if you've lost both parents in such a short space of time - you're obviously grieving as well as everything else. I'm sure you haven't made a mess of the last 35 years - have you asked your daughter what she thinks? You're definitely not the only one who feels this way! When I got ME seven years ago, I could have given in but I was really determined that I would still have a life. Still lots of things I can't do (including a social life!) but the list of 'can do' is longer than the list of 'can't do' - have you tried making one of these lists? If you work but don't like your job, then change it - if you don't work, why don't you see if you could do some voluntary work for a charity? And try the GC chat board - went on it for the first time last night and had the time of my life!!! Keep in touch, love Mandy x

These message boards can really tug at your heart! Jeeze - it over-whelmes me that there are so many people out there that genuinly seem to care and mean it! Sometimes we, (maybe I'm speaking out of turn?), think that these days people are only interested in themselves and what's good for them, well this has started to change my whole opinion on people! What with the support that seems to flood to Baz for his Mum and others like it, it's fantastic...keep it up, it's really wonderful. I am not afraid to say that I have been moved to tears!

I hit that brick wall when I reached 30. I sailed through 40, and now very fast approaching 50 myself. You have a beautiful daughter, so your mistakes can't have all been wrong. And you got off that bed, and came to the computer, and said how you were feeling. That's a start. Now what about tomorrow, anything planned? Belle.
