Hi, I am looking for a good family tree program to use off-line to which I can export/import my tree from here. But I DO NOT WANT the legacy program that is MORMON programs. They are not for me as I do not subscribe to their tactics of mass conversions of people who use their programs.

Hi Antony, I've got my tree on a free Legacy programme. I just added all my information. I did it before I joined GC and now with tips about tribalpages from GC members I've managed to download it all on to that and add photos. I'm very happy with it. The site where you download Legacy from doesn't say anything about being a Morman nor that you have to send any of your stuff to their site. Even when you go to their centres there is no pressure involved either, well none that I've experienced anyway.

The programme being referred to is called "Personal Ancestry File" and is downloadable from www(.)familysearch(.)org it's free and is an excellent tool in my experience. There are references to mormon (church of latter day saints) in there, but you can tailor it to remove most if not all of these. You don't have to submit your information to the mormons, it stays on your PC, so I don't see what the problem is.
