Just had a phonecall from my cousin John. He lives in Tasmania and I have never spoken to him before in my life :-) He's staying in London with his mum, my great aunt (sadly due to attending his brother's funeral). He's also a GC member and we've been swapping info by email for a few months, but it was good to put a voice to a name. He's going grave hunting in Gunnersbury cemetery for some G grandparents tomorrow too. Funny old world isn't it ? Rick.

Great news Rick! It's brilliant when you finally speak to - and meet up with - rellies you've never met in your life. I hope you have a wonderful time together, and that your contact is lifelong. Mandy x

Yes isn't it great after exchanging correspondence to finally speak to a previously unknown relly. Congratulations. Jim

Rick That's good news. Is there any chance of you meeting up whilst he's here? Jean.

Unfortunately no Jean. What with the funeral, visiting his sister up north (I did meet her once !), going to Jersey where he used to live and going back via the States (staying with another cousin), he's a bit too busy for that !! It was good to have a chat though & who knows, there could be other opportunities ? Rick.

I know what you mean Christine. I expected John to have a slight aussie accent as he's been there for a while. Then again he's a Londonder, so I wasn't sure how he'd sound. But I'm a Londoner and I've got a West Country accent now ! Rick.

Hi Rick, That is the same cemetery that George and Annie Brock are buried. (Charles Henry's son). Kathy

Lynda - went last year & a few years ago too ! Remember the heatwave last August - and humidity plus 2 or 3 degrees and that was Jersey - whew !

Hi Kathy, John is once removed & so not related to the Brocks - shame really, but he's on limited time in England. Wouldn't be fair to ask him. Still planning on taking my mum on a tour of the London graveyards sometime ! I know how to treat the old dear :-)

Rick, No, I just thought it was a bit of a coincidence. I have photos of the grave. Up until a few years ago Ken's father used to visit the cemetery at least twice a year. On the Isle of Wight recently with Ken - he said what would you like to do and I said visit a graveyard. He looked at me and said - Uh you're cheerful! I expect your Mum will enjoy it:-) Kathy

Kathy, She's fascinated by it. I'm a bit further back on her line than dad's anyway. Is Ken interested ? I'm really enjoying the whole thing - and the foks on GC are barking mad too, which helps ! Rick.
