Isn't it lovely to sit inside your warm, cosy house and watch the rain running down the window?

The rain sounds great when you're in a tent too.

Its pouring,we had thunder and lightening and flash floods yesterday p.m. in South Yorkshire. Its okay when you dont have anywhere to go and I agree,it is much nicer hearing it in bed but my 7mth old son doesnt quite see it like that,he likes to be up and at em at the crack of dawn!

No rain here - a bit on the cloudy side, but quite pleasant out, and the birds are all singing.

I love thunder and lightning. It makes you feel so alive. I'll often go out in the garden and just watch and it wouldn't be the first time the whole family has come downstairs at 3 o'clock in the morning just to watch.

We're very short of rain in Essex, and in most of the rest of the south east. The groundwater level is low, the ditch that normally fills up during the winter for the dogs to swim in is bone dry, so the level is at least 18 inches below normal for this time of the year.

Thunder and Lightening is wonderful to watch and when we have it,i usually do.Many older people are scared of it though.

Fi, yes, a lot of my older neighbours are scared of it, I have a neighbour now who will shut herself in the cupboard under the stairs if a storm starts! I deliberately brought my kids up to understand storms and enjoy them.

Now I'll make you all jealous. We've had lovely sunshine today. I went on my scooter round the harbour and people were sitting out on terraces drinking. People in shorts, looking very brown - must have been to the beauty parlour I think. 20 degrees - and this isn't Spain or Portugal, just the Netherlands. Sylvia

I agree that I like to be indoors and cosy when it's raining, but I'm much happier now there's a bit of sun around! My brother loves the rain - if it's raining at night, he will open the bedroom window so that he can lie there listening to it!

Beautiful day here too in the South, but as I speak I can hear rain pattering on the conservatory roof. Yippee- good for the garden and our plants. Norah

Beautiful day again Len. The forecast was not so good, but as usual they had it all wrong - fortunately. It's our Queen's official birthday on Friday with festivities going on all over the Netherlands. We're sure to have rain then. But then again they could be wrong. Let's hope.

Just had to tell you Len that your rain has reached us with a vengeance. Thunder and lightning thrown in. Think if it is like this tomorrow I'll stay indoors.
