hi i travelled sixty miles to walk round a cemetry in chiddingly and east hoathly, looking for rellies gr grandmother in particular, got soaked and new i would be rough for a couple of days after due to spinal disease. found quite afew names but not gr gran driving home got to my street and thought silly cow was looking for her under maiden name, went back a week later took my parents for a day out and there she was. i only hope no one ever asks me where i take my parents for days out? [ we've done 7 cemetries.] answer oh i take them to see dead people, my mums into ancestry as well sandra

hi i'm new to the boards,but clair's message reminded me of a reg office that lost my mom and her twin sister, i gave them all the info including full date mothers name etc they said she'd never been born or her twin makes you wonder dont it . i'm a bit fed up at moment everything seems to be going wrong any one having a day like me. oh well got to be cheerful mary

Girls,,,im glad im not alone in this, Many times Iv written stuff down at the library or archives office and its only when iv got home iv realise iv missed off the year/parish....even worse is leaving out the event,,,so Iv got all the details ,year month etc but dont know if its a burial, baptism or a hitch-up,, Sausage brain or what,,,,

I've sent off for certificates in the past putting all the information like when the event was registered, where etc. Then had the registry office get in touch saying - who for!

just got a letter back from Norfolk register office asking me to give them a clue as to what year the births might be ,that i had requested, I forgot to put that bit in............duh........ Has anyone else done this?
