Hiya - l won't have internett access as from tomorrow cause l cancelled with aol and have signed up with Tiscali, so far l can't get connected (Daphne u could be right!!!!:o(( ), the operator said it could take 24 hrs!!!!!, on the screen it said 5 mins!!!!!!!!!!!. Anyway might see you tomorrow, maybe never:o(((( She insisted that if l ring back that l sit in front of the computer - l told her twice l can't its in another room!!! Jude x

Oh dear Jude I hope that you havbe better luck with Tiscali than I did. I changed from them to aol and whilst I am not a big fan of aol it is a lot better than the results that I had before. At least I don't now keep getting knocked off every hour. My main gripe with them is that they are very very selective to whom they offer cheap b/band to. My step-daughter gets her B/band for £19-90 I am a pensionerand rthey want to charge me£27-95rfor thge same service. SO I told them to stuff it. Cheers Ernest (Colwyn Bay)

Ernest, I too have broadband via AOL and only pay £19.99 pm for the first year. They did try to say it was only for 3 months after offering me the deal in the 1st place, then 6 months, then the whole year when i told them to shove it. My eldest daughters fella wants to try aol broadband at the same price and the only reason they said he couldnt was because he didnt already have an ordinary dial up account with them. Goes to show that you can negotiate a deal if you threaten to take your custom elsewhere. Andy

Jude, I hope you can 'totally' uninstall AOL, I couldn't! took a 'crash' to get it off my system, that seems to be one shrude company!

Kim - l am hoping this won't happen to me,but have been warned!!!:o( Andy & Ernest - leaving aol because l can't get broadband with them, my puter is Windows 98 lst edition, it needs to be 2nd edition - had my puter updated as well, still no good,also still have the aol package here!!!! Thanks though, or do you have any other idea's:o))))

Sorry to hear about your PC. to be honest I would think that your engineer ishould have given you better advice about that update. Microsoft have now withdrawn support from windows 98 2nd edition so yopu might have trouble with even your update. I went to my local puter shop ( small business) and they built me a new XP to my spec with flat screen lcd 15" monitor for less than £700 and that has got DVD CD burner,7 card reader. and 6 usb2 ports, They also upgraded my old W 98 2nd edit machine which I have passed on to my step daughter and that is now running office XP. This cost was included in the already quoted price, and what is more they did both jobs in less than 8 hours. So shop around and give places like Curry's, Comet, Dixons& Pc World a miss. come up north and I will introduce you to a good PC shop with 1st class service. Cheers Ernest

Jude...to minimize....have you tried left clicking the little "e" in the top left corner of your screen?? Dee X

Jude You need the original installation disc from aol to use the "remove" option on it. That will get rid of most of it. "Add/remove programs" wont do it. Keep a close eye that they don't take more money from you as they have a bad reputation for that. Bob
