Judith, Friends of ours here won 7 million Euros, but they couldn't give their children large amounts as the children would have had large tax bills. They couldn't even buy the children a new car each. I'm not a tax expert so don't know all the inns and outs. They set up a limited company and bought a bigger house and a new car and the rest remains in the limited company. Although 7 million sounds a lot, it can quickly dwindle if you don't invest properly. They fortunately had expert advice from the lottery people here. They have remained the same people fortunately. He has an allotment and still has the same camper van which he built himself. They can of course afford to have a meal out more often, but that is where it ends.

A good friend of mine (and a single parent, mother of three), always hard working and always hard up, always scratching around to make ends meet, made friends with a person in a similar position(a widow with one child) many years ago; they met at work and their friendship developed. When the various children had grown, they went on holidays abroad together etc. and they are still friends. My friend did find out inadvertantly last year that her friend had won 7 million pounds on the lottery, yet had never told her a word about it. Now help me out here, because I can't get into the head of that person who won the money. Had it been me, I would have wanted to hand over a goodly sum to my friend, not withhold all knowledge of it from her. Norah

Pay off debts, make friends & family financially secure, Support my childrens school, & give some money to our local hospital. Get private medical care for my dad & my family. ( i'm not knocking the nhs ) Do the house up, go on holiday somewhere nice, have a great big family Party. You can never want to win enough, It drives me mad when people do the lottery & say they wouldn't want to win a huge amount ! gggrrr ! You can help so many people with the money you dont want.... Elaine x :o)))

Use your imagination rick! I would buy a house for my parents,my in-laws and give money to those who mean something to me.Put money in a trust fund for our son and for my husbands two daughters and then buy a big house for us and my husband wants an mx-8 although I would prefer a jag and live on the interest. Not that I think about it much!

What would you do with the money if you won the lottery?
