Why Don't We Drink Pigs Milk?

Terri She went to Harper Adams although I went with her to look over Aberystwyth. She then worked as a technical adviser for some years for the Milk Marketing Board, later Milk Marque with a territory in Somerset. Now she is fully employed as a mum. Always have to wipe my chin after saying Aberystwyth. len |

Answer from my daughter (BSc Hons.Agric.): " Logistically it would be very difficult as they have a lot of very small teats and they can be remarkably difficult animals. Unlike ruminants, they eat anything, which is likely to affect their milk. Whose to say it is not a wonderful marketing opportunity waiting to be, er, milked ?" Len |

I think if you look at their diet it may give an answer, Cows, Goats and Sheep all graze grass, pigs eat any old s#@&! |

Had a search and there is a cheese called blivet made from pigs milk so they must be milked. Bob |

Pigs turn nasty when people try to milk them. However I will put the question to my daughter who has a BSc(Hons) degree in agriculture. len |

Something that has been puzzling me for sometime. We drink the milk of goats, cows, and sheep but why not pigs? |
