Eileen.........how about letting the talents!!!!!!! of your BRANDANE BABES show. I am, of course, referring to your slightly older babes.The Mums and Dads. How about an auction of talents-- it could be anything from baking/icing a special cake or gardening or decorating or knitting an aran jumper or simply driving someone round the island on a glorious sunny day (like you always have in Rothesay) and stopping off somewhere for afternoon tea. A great boon to those who don't have wheels... It's amazing the things people come up with when searching for a talent!!!

How about a Nearly New Sale of children's clothes and toys. Not jumble stuff, but things which are in a good condition. Every seller labels everthing they want to sell, and the school provides the hall for the sale, and takes (say) 20% of the takings. Everyone is happy. I help out at my local NCT sale twice a year, and it is great to sell-off unwanted clothes and toys, AND have a chance to buy nearly new stuff at a fraction of the price!

You could get some of the kids involved by having a help pack your shopping bag day at your local supermarket...... The children spend an hour each packing bags for the shoppers and the shopper makes a donation.

Talking about smarties...LOL ! How about a sponsered slim ! Keep it small, like 1/2 a stone in a fortnight/3 weeks. Elaine xx( I really must lose some weight.....)

If a Primary or Nursery school, send a tube of smarties home with note attached for each child and ask them to return the tube filled with coins. All coins up to £1 except 2p, will fit in the tube. Even if filled only with 1p, you get back more than the cost. We use this as one of our main fundraising events and it goes towards one piece of equipment for which we put up a picture and a progress chart. Something we are doing this term thanks to a keen parent, is a sponsored swim. Other parents and a staff member have joined the team. A sponsor form is available on the premises to be filled in and participants also take one away. There is always the sponsored obstacle course. Just for a change, you could ask the parents to participate and get sponsors! Jacky:-)

My childrens school has a 100 club. A number is chosen between 1-100, £1. per number. Once a month ( you can do it once a week ) a number is picked. Half the money raised goes to the school & half to the winner. So if you are lucky to raise £ 100, the school gets fifty & so does the winner! or say for 30 numbers = £15 school----£15 winner. If the number picked has not been chosen by someone, another number is picked until you find a winner. __________________________________________________ Another good one is the lotto (sat) bonus ball. £1 a number 1-49. If the bonus ball for one week is not a match for a number picked for someone, it will be rolled over to the next week. __________________________________________________ A non uniform day....pupils bring £1, for the privelige. ___________________________________________________ same as above but have a green day, or blue day ect. where kids have to wear something with those colours in. ___________________________________________________ In the summer Carribean day another dress up day for a small fee ! __________________________________________________- Fancy dress bbq or disco. with a certain theme. how about st trinians & schoolboys ! with 70-s & 80's music ! __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ Elaine x

Eileen, My charity has just started a 100 club 312 per year for 12 draws 50% to the charity 50% in prizes one draw each month. We have sold 45 tickets within the first couple of weeks realising at least £240. Bob

John I was just looking at the balloon idea the other day in a catalogue which sells the balloons etc. A good idea. Judith Bute is a cyclists paradise.....if you get the weather good!

Thanks Judith and Mary. The school is putting on a singathon in June for school funds and we are having a Hawaiin Disco. Being a small school, about 95 pupils, we were asked to do a joint fundraiser with an even smaller school in August/sept. I like your ideas so far. Many thanks

my daughters school are selling baloons , you put you name on them and a tag let them all off at a certain date and time ,who evers baloon travels the furthest, wins a prize,the baloons are a pound each, in the aid of cystinosis, you could do something like that ,i mean on the same lines,ok. eileen.

i did one once based on the cludeo game, put clues on blackboards in different rooms like...... mr black was in here but no candlestick. mrs peacock wasn't here captain mustard saw the cook in here with a rope, also before the game i told them some of the characters,who they were ,what they did,etc,.......... just to give a bit of a hint of who wanted who out of the way. i gave points for every correct answer and deducted points for extra clues, when they found out who?,where?and with what object? i then awarded extra points for why was it done? hope this helps it was great fun love mary also why not get the teachers to put on a show it could be anything singing,comedy,etc.... or get the children on their own or with teachers .

Our P.A. is trying to think of fundraising ideas that are a bit different. Its a small school so we can't aim too high. Thought of murder mystery nights? Anyone been there, down that? Any ideas gratefully received.
