I love the sound of running water. as in rivers and streams, my children laughing, a mandolin playing and I have to say it (Sorry Valley) bagpipes. My Grandad and uncle were both pipers. Oh and my Dad singing. He's got a lovely voice

The sound of bacon and eggs sizzling for breakfast plus the smell drifting upstairs, whilst I'm still in bed. Not that that happens very often in this household lol Without wanting to seem corny but the sound of silence. Have been in the countryside and been able to hear little or nothing at all, something that I find appealing.

The blackbird that starts singing every evening around 6.30-7.00. Takes me back nearly 50 years to when that was my bedtime. Mum would often go out into the garden then, and I would peep out through the curtains and watch her gardening when I was supposed to be going to sleep. Sue

sea washing over a pebble beach, any birdsong on a hot summers day in the countryside, a huge crowd all singing, my daughter's hearty laugh, my husbands car pulling on the drive in the evening.

The sound of the sea, either as it gently rolls onto shore or when there is a storm and it comes crashing down. Also like the noise of thunder.

My children are always laughing at me, and now my grandchildren too. Anyway, it's all meant lightly. I'm so pleased we have such a good relationship. I used to do my ironing in the evening Judith, when the children were in bed. I then had more time for them during the day. My husband was at evening school 5 evenings a week! Yes, of course the birds singing at 5 in the morning, couldn't miss them, church bells, couldn't miss them.

I love being awoken by the Dawn Chorus, all those beautiful & different bird songs. Lynda

I like to hear my dishwasher and washing machine doing their work. It's nice having mechanical help in the house. Gone are the days when I used to have to do it all myself. Joy, mind you could have done with it when I had the children small. Forgive me if I don't line up my sentences properly, but I'm so used to writing 2 languages that I now cannot write either properly.
