Firewall detection...please help me!!!

Hi, Can anyone help me, I am trying to install my new firewall...but It wont let me...can anyone tell me how to see if i already have one running in the back ground that may be conflicting with it? I just dont get these darn pc's sometimes! thanks for any help, best wishes Sarahx

Hi Sarah I would have thought an original Firewall would be as an Icon on toolbar or even on the desktop. You should also get alerts of any intruders if it was active. One way of finding out is to go into My Computer, then into Add/Remove progames, just scroll down the page, it will show you if you have another version of a firewall. It depends I guess which firewall you have. I had trouble installing my Norton's Anti Virus, and had to uninstall an old version first. I actually was able to download an uninstaller from their website. I would advise you to visit the website for your make, there may be technical help, or FAQs from others who have had the same problem as you. Good luck Lynda

Hi Sarah, Afraid the IT industry is the bane of my life at times! Norton out of Symantec is a pretty good security system, but even that has problems at times. Take Lynda's advice, and check out what you have installed on your computer. Don't let the tekkie nerds get you down, they're a waste of space most of the time! Give us a call if you need more help.
