Thank you Mandy for your tip on changing my dekbed - duvet to you. I usually change the beds on Thursdays, so will try it out.

definately duvets. Everytime I go and visit my gran, she suffocates us with the 20 odd blankets she has on each bed. By the morning, they are all entwinned together and half hanging on the floor. By the end of my couple of nights stay, I am glad to be back home to my nice cosy snuggley duvet. MMMMMMMM

When I was in germany,in 1960, I first came across the " continental quilt" it felt most peculiar, not having the edges tucked in.......it seemed like a BIG cushion........

Can I suggest Barnardos instead, I have a lot of people coming into my shop for Blankets to take for the homeless along with lots of other reasons they need them for. Definatly Duvets for me, no hospital corners!!!

Ann, Buy another one then you can have one each. We have 2 separate beds and therefore our own duvets. Lits-jumeaux

Now I'm all for duvets, but my other half finds them too warm in the summer, so have to provide a sheet. I think the duvets came originally from Germany. Never seen a blanket there. I still have a lot of blankets, kept them in case the children might want them. Think I'll have to give them to the Red Cross soon. I find changing the duvet cover rather a heavy job though. It's better in the summer when I only have 1/2 a duvet on - the duvets snap together, summer and winter warmths.
