Hi Dierdre and Daphne, thank-you for your infinite patience!!!! Had a go this morning and had the first lot returned (the shame of it all!) The next try I ended up with a jpg file that I didn't want to save so am going to hunt for this and delete it! In case you're wondering I have two email addresses so am practising sending them to myself!! But I won't give up. Thanks to both of you! Signed, computer illiterate.

Not all scannig software saves in "My pictures" make sure when you are saving your photo's to make a note of where they are being saved to. Better yet would be to change the folder being saved to to "My pictures" When you get the save box popping up at the top it will say save in or something similar click on the arrow and then select the folder you need. Steve.

Helen, the instructions I gave were to send photos only by email as you said you didn't want to save them just send them. If you want to save them, Daphne is right. Choose the option Scan to File. Scan your photos, clicking the More option until they are all done, then click the Finish option. Your photos will be saved in MY PICTURES. Go to your START menu choose MY PICTURES open the file in thumbnails mode so you can see what they are and click on the picture you want to send, on the left of the screen you will notice that an email this file option will then open up. Click on that and send your picture. If you have a lot of photos to send it is best to put them all into a ZIP FILE and send that. Go to FILE on the top left of your screen, click and choose New. Click the option COMPRESSED FILE. This will open a compressed file (or Zip File) into which you can drag each of the photos you want to email by clicking and holding down the mouse button and dragging the selected pictures one by one into the new compressed file. If you want to keep your own copies of the photos in My Pictures choose the Copy To option (left of screen) to copy the pics into the zip file, because dragging them and sending the zip will remove the photographs from My Pictures. You can then use the email this file option as mentioned before, and mail all your photos in one neat little zipped package, and the download time when it reaches your recipient will be a lot less. Go on Gal...you can do it!!!!! Best of luck! Dee X

Thanks to both of you, I'll give it a try! Will these be saved somewhere? I can never find things again!

Don't know what scanner you have - mine is Epson, when I click on Epson Smart Panel on my desktop, a panel comes up on screen with various options. If I want to email I choose the Scan to Email option. I then scan my photo(s) and when done, click finish. A new email (in my case Outlook Express) page opens up with the photo(s) attached. Then I simple address the email and send to the recipient. Good luck! Dee X

Can any kind person out there let me into this mystery? I want to scan and send some photos to a contact but being totally IT illiterate, I've had a few tries but got nowhere. Is there someone around with great patience and an idiot-proof method? I don't need to save them afterwards, just send 'em! Thank-you :)))
