I don't think I could work or live near Jo in Yarm. I would be constantly crying with laughter and getting myself and Jo into terrible trouble!!!! Keep 'em coming Jo, you are certainly brightening up our days! Julie

I broke my leg when I was 10, was in plastered for 8 weeks. One I got the plaster off Mum decided that I should have a bath to get rid of the dead skin. Well got in the bath and slipped in it, leg was very sore back to the hospital, but luckily had only sprain my ankle. It was more time off school lol nat

Just thought of a couple more from when I was working a few years ago. I was working on a young chronic sick ward, lots of people needed feeding and there was quite a few relatives in the day room. When tea was over I sat on a reclining chair, having a little chat. I lent back on the chair and it flipped me up in the air and I landed on the floor with my uniform over my head. I was so worried because Sister was in the room but every one had a good laugh. I was pushing a patient from his room, his electiric wheel chair had broken down, I fell and as I did pushed him along. He bombed past the office waving and the other nurses in there were so shocked at it they came to look. I was layed out on the floor! Luckily the patient was fine, but he was a bit concerned for me. A man was very poorly and had been sick and I was helping him. He was so distressed when I took the sick bowl away, he couldn't speak. I reassured him it was fine and I would be back in a min. Put the bowl in the sluice and it made an awful noise. So I waited till it had finished and opened it up. His false teeth were scattered all around the sluice. Poor man, couldn't live that down! I hope there are a lot more accident prone people about, I'm sure they will understand!

Pen, I'm not so sure! My next door neighbour was a fireman and he used to say he was sure he would get an award for rescuing me! Mandy, I am an Aries.

Fortunately (touch wood!!) I'm not but my hubby is .... it's always him who hits his thumb with the hammer, or falls off the ladder, or down the stairs ...... the list is endless!! One particular incident was a few years ago and he was doing the washing up. It was in the days when I actually used my food processor and he had dried the evil-looking blade thing from the middle. He reached up to put it in the cupboard, missed, it fell off and he actually put out his hand to catch it instead of letting it fall!! Needless to say, a trip to casualty and several stitches. Like others who have replied, there's loads more to tell, I could go on all night. Now what makes people accident-prone - is it their birthsign?

Wow Jo what an 'interesting' neighbour you must be!!!! Its so quiet in my street if I lived next door I would be constantly looking out for you. I'm feeling so much better knowing i'm not the only unlucky one out here. Best wishes to all you accident prone people, Penny

I am, very. It always happens to me! Some to go on with, while tying back some conifers, had both hands squeezed through the fence trying to get hold of the string, slipped forward both hands stuck in the fence. I was shouting for ages till a neighbour heard me. Fell out of the tree in the garden, while trying to chop off a branch. Was stuck upside down in the conifers. I was shouting but the neigbours though it was a peacock untill they found me. Went to hospital with a tin of rice pudding stuck in my thumb. Loads more but you probably wont want to know me if I tell all!!!

I'm always cutting myself or tripping over things. Last time I sprained my ankle was by falling off the kerb. The funniest was when I cut myself on a spoon and went to get a plaster to cover it, I then managed to cut myself again trying to open the box of plasters to get the plaster for the first cut. These boxes should come with a Government Health Warning!

Hi Pen and Gillian, It sounds like the two of you have had "major accidents" and I can sympathize. I have been accident prone all my life and have lost count of how many times I have sprained my ankles. The worst was coming home from work one Christmas Eve (when my boys were still small) I had my arms filled with parcels and could not see the last step on the subway. Needless, to say I spent the Christmas holidays crawling on all fours. ´ It was only a couple of years ago that I learnt from a Podiatrist that being double jointed was the cause of my weak ankles. Personally, I think it was caused by doing ballet from the age of four. Lindy:-))

Ive recently had 2 ops for carpal tunnel syndrome (nerve restiriction in both hands) Ive still got the stitches in from the last op. After I had the 1st hand done went for my final visit to the specialist who ok'd 1st hand cured and could have surgery on other hand. As I was leaving the hosp the fire alarm went off and I was not able to use the car park machine to pay for my parking so as I was in a hurry I decided to walk down to the car park barriers and buzz for assistance but before I got there I tripped over part of the guttering that was sticking up and went AOT. I was so embarrassed I darent look up and heard loads of people shouting "are you alright?" and in the words of Peter Andre all I could answer was "Im Ok".I bashed both knees elbow and hip and ended up in A&E. But Im sure theres many of you out there worse than me!!!!! LOL

Had a tooth absess couple of months ago then 4 weeks ago ended up in casualty with a lacerated knee (tripped over nothing) really painfully and needed crutches and antibiotics (which found I am allergic )to, just getting over that and 'twisted'my ankle on Wed eve, heard a crack and thought I'd broken it so back to casualtyand luckily it was only a torn ligament and sprain so back on crutches feeling fed up and bored. Is anyone else having an accident prone time too? Penny
