Hi Peeps, I was at the cem today, trying to find some relatives info, and right by my granddad was this surname! I could not stop looking at it and it has been playing on my mind all day. Has anybody ever known such a name? |

Yes, I've heard of it here in Somerset, although i don't think there are many of them! we also have sidebottom - pronounced siddy-bo-TOM; lemon pronounced Le Mon (say with french accent); trebilcock pronounced tre-BILL-co. De'ath is the best, but if i think of any more I'll let you know! |

True story Stacey, when I was young I was delivering leaflets with my friend to some old folks flats. In this one block there was a Mrs Dea'th a Miss Grave, a Mrs Scare and Mr Gory. We were terrified and never went back there again! |

There is a Jason Death who is a professional rugby league player. Think he used to play for New Zealand's warriors now for a club in Australaia. So you might find some downunder too. |

Good Morning Stacey Couple of weeks ago we had a patient come in to our ward with the surnname De'ath so the name must be around in Kent as well also if you are interested i am reserching the Webb surname as well my grandmothers maiden name |

Stacy, LOL at you finding lots on this site :)))) But thought of another one. I truly hope I don't offend anyone because the person concerned is not British, but this is only in a light-hearted way. My hubby had a knee operation two weeks ago and the consultant treating him was called Mr El-Titi ...... :) |

A few years ago I went with my father in law to register the death of his maiden sister in law (he was the next of kin) and the the registrars name was De'Ath. We found it quite comical even at such a sad time. Viv. |

Hi Stacey, only just seen your email my Mothers maiden name was Death we were not so posh as to put the comma in!! my uncles wife did she didnt like having Death( pronounced Deeth by my Gran) found out all my Deaths came from Suffolk lots of them!! they migrated south to London my grandad lost touch I am still trying to trace any rellies sandra |
