Hi Naomi!! Am in similar situation! Had a look in Which! magazine at the library - April 2004 they 'did' vacuum cleaners. Dyson didn't even get in top 6!! Best one was a Miele one - and cheap too! Well worth a trip to the library - they give a rating for allergies, pets, general use etc etc Maz. XX

Cheers Kath, I might try that although I'm pretty sure the guarantee may have run out.

I have the bagless electrolux hoover, much better than the dyson in my opinion , and not as heavy to push However if you ring dyson they will fix your existing hoover you have and from what i can remeber when my mums DC01 broke, they did it for nothing, even the postage was free. Kath x

Naomi, Don`t talk to me about vacuum cleaners, I hate the damn things. If it`s not getting tangled up in the hose, it`s that continuing droning. AAHHHHHH

My 3.5 year old Dyson DC05 has packed up. And I'm wondering what to replace it with. I didn't think it was as good as Dyson's were made out to be anyway although was very good for balancing on the stairs. I've just borrowed my M-I-L's upright Hoover but I found it quite heavy and awkward for the stairs. Also I couldn't get it between the end of the bed and chest of drawers so had to lift it. What do you use and what would you recommend?
