Hi Kylie...as the proud owner of a rescued JRT (now around 4 years)...I understand what you mean! Mine goes for socks too....while my husband is still wearing them! His toes have been mauled to bits! I think he's probably old enough to be castrated now (I mean the dog!!), though I doubt it WILL slow him down! Jack's are a bit manic - but so full of character and fun! But neutering will stop him being aggressive to other male dogs and escaping to chase bitches on heat. Also give him plenty of exercise and that includes his mind...Jack's are clever little beasts! Teach him some tricks...sit, stay, shake "hands", roll-over etc. Also hide treats around the place and get him to find them... Here's my treat recipe....dog's love this stuff:- LIVER CAKE 1lb liver (I use lamb’s) 1lb Granary flour 3 eggs 2 cloves garlic teaspoon cooking oil splosh (generous) of milk Liquidise together, the liver, eggs, milk garlic and oil Add this mixture to the granary flour and mix well. Microwave in a bowl for 10 minutes on full power Cool completely, turn out , slice and cube. Freeze. Defrost and use as required. Any unused should be kept in the fridge.

Hi Kylie puppys are a nightmare, like excited children everything is fun time. they do calm down a little bit as they get older, plenty of long walks to tire him out, they are hunting dogs if i'm not mistaken for rabbiting and such, so its a natural instinct to dig and run around . My german shephed is nearly 5yrs and i gave her a bone biscuit as she had been good, with baby grand daughter, she promptly went outside and buried it, digging up my tulips to make a space. grrrrrrrr we love them tho sandra
