Ive had problems too, i sent payment 10 days early, but as soon as i hit that renew button my current membership expired. I emailed GC and didnt get an explannation, i was unable to do any "members only" activites for three days.... while they waited for my cheque! So next year im waiting till the actual date it expires.... Dont want to be caught out again!

Membership not due yet: only joined a couple of months ago. However, have been given permission by several people to view their trees, but according to GR I don't have permission to!

Where do I look to see when my membership runs to please? Chris

My membership is due for renewal on 5th June, but the reminder has been there for a few weeks. Emailed GC to tell them I will pay nearer renewal date, but have not received a reply, but I very rarely do to anything I email them about. M.

My membershi[p is due for renewal on 21 May and as you can see i can still post, haven't been cut off early. I'm not renewing so will just keep posting till i can't post no more LOL Shelli

Maybe they will read this thread and get it sorted. You shouldn't have to lose a month or use of the facilities so long as you pay by the due date Diane

I got a message asking me to renew my membership a month before the due date but i gnored it and thought i would pay nearer the time. Eventually i couldnt access the members board so I had to pay,even though the expiry date wasnt up,

Somebody called William (sorry can't remember the rest of your name!) had problems with this a couple of weeks ago; he was asked for his subs quite a long time before they were due. I think they also stopped his access (not entirely sure, sorry if I remember wrongly!), but when he paid they started him up as a new member with a brand new tree of 1 !! Hopefully he will see this thread and give you the proper info, and how he got it sorted out.

I was prompted to rejoin a month in advance for both Gc & FR. But both my new memberships are down as ending 1 year after my expiery date not the date I paid. EG: Expiery date 1st may 2004 + I am a member until 1st may 2005. I paid on 1st april. Elaine x

Sandra, I had similar problems. My membership was up at the begining of April, and was being asked to renew about a month before. At first I ignored it because I knew I still had memebrship time, but without warning my contact tree's were removed, trying to email possible links were blocked. putting messages on the boards also became blocked. I tried three times it get help via support, I even decided to pay up early, but I could never get access to the page where I could give my card details. In the end I withdrew my tree, and of course all my contacts were lost. I started fresh as a first timer, card was accepted, I uploaded my tree via gedcom file and I'm now back in business. I remember at the time I replied to another members thread who was also having trouble. I even mentioned leaving GC for good because I was upset for only getting 11 months membership. I was encouraged to to stay, that's why I started all over again fresh. As you can see I'm a happy bunny again. Brummie Dave, where the weather is HOT!!!!!

When I renewed on FriendsReunited I have lost the Month so have had only 11 Months. Did You Notice what Support Called themselves in the reply they Sent me on top of this Thread GENESREUNITED Not GENESCONNECTED. Do you think they may have had a Bad Hair day or have they someone new working for them? Sandra

I've noticed the message but am not renewing until the time is up. Somebody else said they renewed a month early and lost that month. Mine runs out 27th I'll renew then. Diane

Its not too bad having to pay for a month in advance of your expirery date, as you will be credited from your expirery date, not the date you paid. However it is wrong to stop you having member benifits until your expirery date. Suppose you diddn't want to renew? You are still entitled to use your remaining months credit. After all, when I joined, I paid for a year, not 11 months. I think its ok to remind you though. Without taking benifits away, Elaine x

I sent a message to support as they have put a big rectangle on my Home Page and said my Membership was about to expire. I don't run out for another 23 days well into JUNE. By the way Rectangle still there. I sent a cheque this morning even though it is not due yet as I couldn't send a message to Boards or Access my other Members Trees which I have permission to view. I can now as you can see because they have reinstated me. But the funny thing is they called themselves GENESREUNITED. Confusung as I have an account with Friends reunited as well which I had to renew early as well and even that doesn't run out until May 28th. Had to pay them over Two weeks or more ago. (Scuze my Grammar won't you-all the as wells). Sandra
