Lisa there was an item on the news the other week about a new N.H.S. practice opening in Elgin and people had been queuing round the block over the weekend to get registered. I could hardly beleive it! I take it as you are having problems too it must be country wide.

When I couldnt find a NHS dentist for my husband I was advised to call NHS direct who then search for you and I guess failing that the community dentist which I understand is based at the Hospital. Again NHS Direct should be able to advise. Pen

Guess i was lucky then, i hated our dentist. he talked down to me. I have always hated the dentist and had to be sedated as a child after biting the dentist ( not the one who i disliked) So when my kids came along i decide that the only way to stop them having the same fear was to let them see me being examined etc from a young age. The dentist basically told me that it was a stupid idea.. I never went back. But being concerned for my childrens teeth , i rang around for another dentist, i got one on the second try for all 5 of us. He is wonderful... the kids have been attending since first visit when youngest couldn't even sit, they have perfect teeth. AND more importanly no fear.. my own fear is lessened as i HAVE to be brave in front of my kids but if i need treatment i return alone LOL
