I've now contacted GC twice with regard to a member who has input details of myself and my immediate family without getting permission to do so. I'm particularly upset about their decision to put in the details of my brother (whom some of you will know only passed away a fortnight ago). Even though I have these same details on my tree - at least I retain control over who gets to view it and how much information I include. I've gone to great lengths to ensure that I don't make the people in the other members family identifiable (I use coding in my tree that only I understand). has anyone had any success in getting GC to have other members remove details when they haven't sought permission or am I just banging my head against a brick wall. All I want is some kind of response from GC to say yes they can do something about it or no I have to contact the person myself (not actually an option - long story) NNnnnnnnnnngg - is this just confirmation that I'm now entering my "angry phase" ;o) Zoe

Hi Zoe, I had a similar problem when I first joined GC. I mailed them and was pleased with their response. GC mailed the person responsible and gave them a certain time in which to delete the names and said that if the person didn't do it by that time GC would delete them. It wasn't immediate so you may have to wait a day or so. GC kept me informed and let me know when the names had been deleted and who had entered them. Yvonne

cheers girls. Perhaps I'll hang back and be a bit more patient with GC to see what they say
