Belle, I heard this 'story' a couple of days ago. The version I heard was that a memo had been circulated to all Park Superintendants. (Why them I don't know). Linda, thanks for the information. What a relief to know it is only an urban myth. Jean.

Hi everyone, I was sent and email today from an old friend of mine, that's reportedly come from the London Ambulance Service, and it states that to gain enterance into a South London Gang there is an initiation ritual that they have to go through. The new member must drive around London at night, with no lights on their car, and the first person that draws attention to the fact, eg, toots their horn, flashes their lights, or points out of the window towards their headlights, will then be followed by the car with no lights, and the next opportunity a shot will be fired into the car with no regard to who ever happens to be the occupants. The London Ambulance Service recommends that if you see a car with no lights, just let it carry on, and do nothing. It also says that what they are doing in London today, they will be doing all over the Country tomorrow. So please be aware, and tell everyone you can. I hope to god this isn't true, as 2 of my childern still live there. Belle.
