shelli you will be missed, i do hope you trace your dad, never give up hope, i'm trying to trace boyfriiends son who was adopted for him. you may have a little information but as you know by doing your tree, a little can go a long way. good luck in your search and i hope you may reconsider leaving, the last few days have been exceptoinal, circumstances, i have been here for well over a year now and this morning i put on a thread that i might not renew next jan, you have made friends i might not be one of them, as new to this board, but the support to each other is overwhelming with sorrow and happiness, laughs and jokes. The time has come to say so long, farewell and goodbye ( OI?? who said good riddance??? LOL) I don’t often start threads, but I felt I couldn’t leave without saying goodbye and thank you to all the wonderful friends I have made whilst on GC. My membership expires tomorrow and I’m not renewing it…. I came onto Gc via friends, in the hopes of finding my dad, last seen when I was 13 months. But thanks to Joan, I now realise I have very little chance of finding him due to lack of information on him. He was my main reason for starting this lark, but I’ve gotta say I’m thoroughly enjoying doing the rest of my tree. I’d like to thanks each and every one of you personally but I’d be here for hours. So thanks for the support when I felt down and the encouragement when I wasn’t. Thanks for the look ups, tips and advice for my searches and for my computer knowledge. Thanks for the giggles, the jokes and the fun I’ve had. I didn’t think it would be this hard to say goodbye but surprisingly it is?? But hey life was never meant to be easy was it??? I will still look in from time to time and of course I’ll still be on messenger if anyone wants to speak to me!!!! So in the words of Jerry Springer …. Take care of yourself and each other… Shelli Xxxxxxx P.S. In case anyone is curious LOL the reason I’m not renewing is firstly because I can’t justify £7.50 just to chat which is just about all I do on Gc these days!!! (Hey I might even get a bit more of my tree done) The second reason is because of all the squabbles and nastiness that have occurred lately, when I started a year ago you could just relax and have a laugh, I feel I can’t do that these days. I am forever checking what I have written in case it can be read in another way; I can’t be bothered with all that. I have four kids if I want a petty squabble then I simply turn off the computer and watch them. But on the other hand everyone is entitled to their say and long may that continue.
