Hi Patricia, I have been growing my hair for the past two years and it is now well below my shoulders. The problem I have is static electricity. When I wash it I add mousse to the length before I blowdry it and I have tried serum too, but nothing stops it going mad after a short while. My hair is fine, but not thin. Any ideas please? M.

Terry..definately sounds like bad hair days!, ok! first of all, always have perm done before colour, perm will make colour fade!, make sure your mobile hairdresser is using correct products ie perm lotion for coloured hair, do you ever ask her what products she uses? if your hair is short and coloured expect to get 3 months maximum out of perm because it will be cut out after this amount of time and remember you always have a choice!, if you are not happy with the service she is providing then go elsewhere, I often here customers say that they stayed with a hairdresser out of loyalty, I have to say, its an expensive way of showing loyalty, salons may be more expensive but usually you are fully aware of what products are being used on your hair and if you are not happy with results then they will usually offer a free service to rectify problem!, maybe you could also ask your hairdresser the best way for you to look after your hair inbetween visits, ie products to use, best way for you to style your own hair, blowdrying, rollers, velcros tongs ect, hope you get sorted! lol Pat

Patricia. How long have you got? LOL!!! My hair has been a battle for as long as I can remember. I have naturaly curly frizzy hair, I have to keep some length to it otherwise it is tight curls right against my head. Every hairdresser I have ever been to 'fluffs' it up and I always come away close to tears. One even said a perm would control the frizz and curls, so like a mug I said ok. I cannot even begin to describe what it looked like!!! I spent the next 2 weeks housebound trying every way possible to get rid of it. I have tried having it straightened at hairdressers but hair is too course for it too work. I do not have much time in the mornings to do much to my hair other than brush through it with a wet brush and stick a ton of mousse in. If you look at GC Photo's page 4 'susanne' that is my hair on a good day with just a hint of mousse. Oh yes I also have eczma on my scalp and face so have to be a bit careful what I use. Apart from saving it all off, what would you advise? Sue:-)

Hiya Sandra, I was reading your messages the other day and felt so sorry for you all, did,nt reply at the time, was,nt sure what to say, your daughter is so young to experience this kind of tragedy, however you sound so supportive i,m sure with time she will come to terms with this terrible event. Glad she,s out tonight and glad you were able to make her feel abit better. Lol Pat

not sure on that one Judith!, guess you,re going to have to do it all over again (but without the vodka)!, only joking, same dryer, same products same mirror etc, maybe you felt good in yourself the other day and not so good this time?, when we,re feeling good hair, makeup etc seems to look great, but when we,re feeling a bit low doesn,t matter what we do, just dont feel right!

Naturally wavy hair that kinks up at the side - if I'm not careful it looks like I'm growing horns like the devil!

Bad hair day! only every day. In the last four weeks i have paid a mobile hairdresser. £25 for a cut and blow dry.Result hair too flat and straight booked a perm another 35 quid, perm took all colour out so booked for colour, another 25 quid. result passible not fantastic, perm almost out. so its back to rollers again . Im skint and still look like wurzel gummidge. at 63 maybe I can get a wig on the national health.

Hi Terry, use a smoothing cream as oppossed to mousse when you wash your hair it will be easier to blow dry straight, also try using a protective product when you use your straighteners, it will help to protect your hair from the heat., but probably the best advice is not to over use straighteners, tie your hair back midweek if you,re not going anywhere special, and remember what looks a mess to you probably looks great to other people

hi pat sorry not got a bad hair day, i was a hairdresser and this afternoon my 16 year old wanted her hair done, so i low lighted her dark blonde hair with red, it came out really well, and gave her a trim and straightned it for her, she starts her exams next week. She also needed cheering up as five of her friends died last week in the brighton crash one was her best friend. Tonight shes popped down the road to her brothers for a barbecue, and tomorrow evening she will go back home to crawley. have a good night sandra
