I don,t know about other parts of the U.S. but here in New York (state) the banks deal in International money orders. For that, they charge a flat fee of $25, irrespective of what the face value of the money order is. Much simpler (and cheaper) to use a credit card. I know in Canada, you can buy a money order in pound sterling so if you live close by, just nip over the border.

I think that GC might prefer it if subs are paid in sterling, because the banks make charges for converting other currencies. All you would have to do would be to buy a money order for £7.50 from your local bank, and pay them the dollar equivalent plus whatever charges they make.

sorry i don't know, you could try gc on the contact us, i paid mine with a debit card online, to them have a good day sandra ps theres something about this on the tips board page 1 its $13.50 with lots of american and canadians sandra

Hi All, An American girl who has tree on GC is not a full member so cannot post messages etc., would anyone know if she can pay by personal cheque(check). I pay by that method but I am in UK. Also what is the equivalent amount in dollars would it be for £7.50p. Many thanks for your help. Sandra
