Think I'll try that. Thanks Mags. All these ideas, and smashing people on this site, worth the membership. Liz

Liz - my mum used to keep her poinsettia growing and to encourage the leaves to turn red she used to 'put it to bed' each night by putting it in a dark cupboard and it worked - don't ask me why!

For the first time ever - we still have ours growing from christmas. A tip for poinsetta, that someone gave to my hubby: place a piece of kitchen roll, preferably folded, into bottom of your water tray. and make sure that you keep it moist. Ours is still growing - but has no red leaves Liz

Another Christmas time brings another birthday. Don't remind me, I'm sure they come round quicker than they used to. On the plus side, it's always in the holidays and everyone is in a happy mood then.

Like Helen I work in a high street store, and today we received Christmas stock, thankfully it will not be for sale until September, thank goodness. Sue

Elizabeth, You are not the only one to buy early for Xmas. I actually shop all the year for presents. It is not that I go out of my way to buy, but if I see something nice then I buy it and think that will do for Jane or that will do for John. It does save a lot of hassle Xmastime, or birthdays, especially shopping in the rain. I also make all my own Xmas cards - about 85! My youngest daughter also does this but come Xmas she doesn't know where she has put the gifts, and she is not old!! Sylvia

I must be really sad but I start buying for the following Christmas in the January Sales. Normally my Christmas is all bought, wrapped and written by the end of November. Then I can relax. And I still find time to find those elusive relatives! The year my son was born I was still trying to find presents on Christmas Eve and it ruined my christmas being so unorganised.

I refuse to think about Christmas until QVC have their 'Christmas in July' day! LOL Then I start gathering the ingredients for the 7, yes seven, Christmas cakes I make for family and friends! Once they are all made (and ready to be fed weekly with loads of alcohol), usually by the end of September, then I think about the present buying. How many days to go was it? Sue

Tracey, just watching the local news and they were asking for reasons to be cheerful after Englands defeat last night and someone said that there were only 183 more days to Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!! Must start writing my cards lalols.

Some of you are really organised I might think about Christmas in September then I forget about it until the end of November. Then I may or may not start preparing as the fancy takes me. I usually have all the presents by the middle of December unless one of the grandchildren wants a toy of the year which is proving difficult to find Bren
