Hello folks, Sorry about that, sod's law, I'm afraid! Mention the weather, and it's bound to rain! As it happens, it's been another lovely day down here in the banana belt, and I've been cutting the grass. Very therapeutic when the sun is shining. However, I gather from the radio news this evening that the Test at Headingley was rained off, so you northern cousins have my sympathy! (Well, not for missing the cricket, can think of better ways of passing a sunny day!) Anyway, Jeanette, looking forward to the bared bum! Possibly you could try M&S's window, as it now seems to be under new management? Now, where did I leave that sun hat??!!! Philip

Elaine What colour is the sky in your world? lol When you say the sea temperature in Skeggy will be warm, are you basing it on a Mediteranean climate or an Arctic one?! The day the North Sea is warm I'll bare my bum in Top Shops window! LOL Jeanette

I have it from good authority ( my licked finger held up to the wind!!) That from the 18th June until the 2nd July, there will be 10 hours of sunshine per day. Temperatures between 75-80 degrees. Dropping to a comfortable 40 degrees at night. The sea temperatures at Skegness will be lovely & warm & the sun will provide no harmfull rays until the 3rd July. The sunniest spot will be beside the pool in Butlins ! Elaine x( hope....so much hope.....) :o))

I wen,t over to Cumbria today Bob ,to look at some houses. One of them would do me ,and sounds as though it would do you. A small estate ,on the side of a hill, looking out towards the penines,about six miles straight over the valley ,and a nice little seaside town[st Abb,s] in the other direction. You get up in the morning ,look out of the window and see greenery everywhere. It would suit Terri too,the newkie brewery is only 60 miles away which means the beer is cheaper up here too.Fred.

I love the sunny weather but dawn on a bright clear spring day somewhere up high is my idea of perfect. Devon is lovely, soft and green but I prefer a few hills so The Yorkshire Dales or Northumbria would get my vote. I took my mother out for a drive last week and she, as usual, was complaining about modern developement "There will be no countryside left soon". I stopped the car in a field gate somewhere in the Cotswold hills and, though we could see for miles, there wasn't a sign of human life anywhere in sight.

Terri im with you I wish I lived there too! I hope you all realise how lucky you all are he he,but I will be paying you a visit in Devon (Torquay) in July our one week of heaven and fresh air! Ive never had a bad week yet with the weather (Oh what have I just said!!!) Jan x (Manchester)

Give me the UK for holidays any time. Devon girl born and bred, now happily in Somerset, and Bournemouth best place for holidays! But I admit it would be nice if we could have a bit of warmth and sunshine! Mandy :)

there is so much beauty in our country, the sun will shine for us, and if its dull there are some lovely architectural buildings to wander around, i've been abroad 5 times and rate britain 1st class everytime. sandra

I may be risking the wrath of the gods, let alone the teasing uncertainty of our weather, but I wonder if this could possible be the start of a long hot summer this year? We enjoy going abroad on holiday, as much to see the sights as to seek the sun. However, if we could be assured of good weather each summer, I'm sure we'd stay at home. Judging by today, while driving back home from Barnstaple down the sleepy lanes of North Devon, there's no more beautiful place to be than the English countryside when the weather's good. God's in his heaven etc. Mmmm.... Philip
