I sure hope the site's speed increases soon. The slowness means I end up doing most of the lookups that I am asked for when the UK is asleep. It is frustrating to go to the trouble to do the lookup and then not be able to post the results because the site is crawling along at a snails pace. Sometimes I am not sure for several minutes if my answere will even show up on the board.

To put it in a nutshell the site is oversubscribed, and can,t handle the volume of traffic,so what happens now ,as more join, it gets worse,it,s an ever decreasing circle.Fred.

I just peeped in the one family tree site mentioned somewhere in the message board and they are offering facility to view other member trees with the members permission...that`s what i understand from what is written in the site.

I think Genesconnected should concentrate on this rather than unnecessary site name changes.

That's all well and good GR Admin, but when are you going to sort out the problem of not being able to show cousins marrying? I've been a member for well over a year now and you were promising this when I first joined. Jeanette

which confirms what I said all along - they didn't do sufficient load testing or capacity planning before they introduced the new search features and their servers gettign swamped (and yes, I do know what I'm talking about lol)

Looking forward to seeing the problems resolved. P.S.Personally not bothered about name change but laughing at how they are still posting as GenesConnected Administrator rather than GenesReunited. Christine
