Mandy Your reply really had me puzzled and I had to think about it, being an oldie!! Then I realised the you meant Pampers!! Now I am LMAO and have to calm down before I go back downstairs to him indoors (who by the way, has bought me a beautiful pair of earrings for my birthday!) Better go now, I've had a couple and need my bed soon. Why is the site so slow tonight, it's taken 10 mintes for this to register??

Thanks everyone for your advice. I really wouldn't dream of upsetting my best friend so I will keep my mouth shut and maybe I will get to like them. I may even put lights on them at Christmas! They are about 6 foot tall and very straight so no other option but to put them in a tall vase. As for Joanne's suggestion about saying they got dirty after a year, my best friend also does my cleaning as I work full time and have a back problem, so I could not possibly do that. Thanks again folks. Lynne

Lynne, I really should learn to plug my brain in and read ahead - I couldn't understand why you would have a display of nappies LOL I was going to say what the others said - you can get some really tiny lights that do look lovely in twigs. I've got a bunch of the curly willow sprayed gold and although I haven't got lights in them, the gold catches the light and (I think!) looks lovely. If your friend was bold enough to say she didn't like your pampas, then I think you needn't be afraid to say you don't like her choice of twigs!

My daughter had those curly willow twigs all over her bedroom ceiling, and had small christmas twinkling lights in them. Used to look lovely at night, we got the idea from a pub!! I have also seen them in tall vases standing on the floor, but I don't think they look so affective like that. I am a fan of Pampas too though, used to have a big plant in my garden, used to love having it indoors, such a display. Lisa xx

Lynne, If you have a strong cemented friendship I am sure that your friend will understand and appreciate your feelings. You could tell her that it is not your choice without her feeling offended. Good luck in whatever you choose to do. Lindy;-)

Actually twigs look lovely with those tiny tiny lights on them. Thats if you like that sort of thing of course. Pretend you like them at least for a year, then you could say they got dirty or something. It's not worth upsetting a friend. Jo X

I have a display of Pampas, which I have spray painted, in my conservatory and my best friend said she didn't like it so she has just brought me this BUNCH OF TWIGS for my birthday present. I think these twigs are a waste of money and ugly. ShouldI tell her or just put them in the conservatory and prentend I love them? Lynne
