Len Report 18 Jun 2004 19:42

Kim, Saw a sticker in the back of a rather large people carrier, "SMALL PERSON ON BOARD", then I saw the driver who could hardly see over the dash, when she got out she was only about 4ft, so I suppose some of these stickers are useful..........Len

Mike ...Love it ...can't wait to pass it on. Just one thing though, my 17 yr old daughter started driving lessons a few weeks ago ...her instructer tells her off for using the indicators ... I'm absolutely gob smacked. I've told her to ignore him, I ALWAYS indicate and very often get asked why I bother if no one is near ( habit !) You can't fail your test for indicating too many times (unless you leave it on !!) but you can fail for not using it enough .. I get so annoyed at drivers who don't indicate ! Talk about road rage ;-)) Elaine :-)

Hi Mike, I loved this thread, very funny, especially as yesterday we travelled back from the Lake District, I think we were in a minority by not flying the flag - I never knew there were so many patriotic people. AND there were cars who gave themselves 'carte blanche' because they had the sticker (baby on board) that allows them to drive like lunatics. (sorry that is probably not PC) should I say idiots? Or would that get me in hot water too? even worde than those not signalling are those who can't make up their minds, signal let and go right and vice versa. You have to be a mind reader to drive these days. Kay Sorry to hear about your accident, that would give me a sense of humour failure too. I hope you will be able to overcome your fear soon. Hopefully not too many drivers like that poor lady around. Mike to echo Jude, is there any chance that you can make Webbs at Droitwich on 24 July? it would be lovely to see you again. Ann Glos

Philip Report 21 Jun 2004 19:11

In our part of the world it's just as likely to be people flying the black flag of Kernow (Cornwall for the uninitiated). All these Cornishmen trying to sneak over the Tamar into Devon! lol! About time we got onto Volvo drivers, while we're discussing safety driving. Volvo drivers seem to be the folks who buy a Volvo because of its safety hype, then drive it really safely (eg below 20 mph on a main dual carriageway!) A contradiction in terms really! Philip (not a Volvo driver from Kernow!)

Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC)

Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC) Report 22 Jun 2004 02:15

Greeting's Philip. . . . Volvo's. . . There the ones with the head lights on in broad day light. . .? Most off putting when you catch sight of them in your rear-view mirror you think . . . Oh. . . an emergency Vehicle By the new ruling they should be given several flags to fly then . . . . . Wonder if " President Blair" will be doing anything about those escapees coming over the Tamar ? Doubt it . . .lol :0))) MIKE.

Mike, Have you spotted the pedestrians wearing the warning sign in Leicestershire? Last Thursday and last night on the way to Scouting and Guiding events I spotted pedestrians draped in the warning sign - presumably indicating that they were "dangerous pedestrians"!! (As one was one of our guides, I am willing to believe that!!). It seems that the pedestrian outfit is not complete without a large daft hat of the same colour as the sign!! Maggie
