Innsbruck is a "must". Visit the Alpenzoo - you can park there, have a look around the Zoo then get the cable car up the Hafelekarspitze (2334m). Fabulous views of the city and the mountains. Drive out to Igls and walk up to the top of the Bob sleigh run. Wattens and the Swarovski Exhibition are interesting. Don't forget your credit card! Garmisch-Partenkirchen is lovely especially the old part. If you are doing any research whilst you're there let me know - my Gt Grandmother was born there. Drive out to Ettal. Klosterkirche is well worth seeing. Schloss Linderhof (mad King Ludwig's castle) is worth a visit - once! Hohenschwangau and Neuschwannstein - a good day out. Walk to the Marienbridge for great views of the castle. If you're in to walking there are some lovely walks around Scharnitz. Murnau is a delightful little town and there are some really nice walks around there. Say "Hi" to my sister if you visit. Munich is worth a day trip also Salzburg. If you drive to Salzburg set off early. The roads get very busy. Don't forget to purchase a pass to drive on Austrian motorways - nobody told us about that! Have a super time - I'm jealous! Jill
