Ann, I don't know what system you are on but if you use outlook go into tools then options and click on read, make sure box is checked where it says mark message read after displaying for, and change it to how long you want, i have mine on 30 seconds so unlessyou double click on it it won't open for 30 seconds which gives you plenty of time to see what the message is in the preview pane and to delete it. I had an email a short while ago that I thought might contain a virus (it's heading was 'your bill'), I couldn't work out why Norton had let it through. On further checking, I found out that Norton had 'cleaned' the virus from the email before letting it through. I still deleted it without opening. Sue:-)

I had something similar - it came as bounced mail from a postmaster - no attachment - just opening it was enough to activate the Netsky p virus and alert Norton. Maggie
