Can anyone suggest anything that might help me find birth entries in the register. I have 4 people I need to find birth certs for. I know when approx they were born between 1877 and 1887. According to the 1901 census and ww1 records they were born in Manchester. I have looked up all the varients of the spelling and there are no entries at all. Nothing on the IGI and no trace on 1881 and 1891 census. Can anyone suggest where I go next. Thanks

Could they possibly have been born in that part of Manchester, which used to come under Cheshire? Regards William Russell Jones Cefn Mawr Wrexham.

Possibly but I have looked at all the birth records at the county records office and there is no one that could be them born anywhere. Thanks

Hi, It's possible that the parents weren't married and the children registered under the mother's maiden name. Gwynne

Have you looked on 1837? Chris

Hi Hadnt thought of them registering under mothers maiden name but I dont know it thats why I needed the certs. Thanks anyway. Have not looked on 1837 as I have been to the county records office and looked thru their registers. Its the same as the 1837 info. Thanks
