Hi Fi, enjoy Whipsnade! They generally take the elephants on walkies round the park after lunch, so morning is a good time to see them in their enclosure. We usually drive round the park in the afternoon and spot them feeding somewhere--a perfect opportunity for photos! Quite often they take them to 'the old elephant arena', which is set back from the road where the big loos are--near the shop. The 'Birds of the World' display and the sealion display both have wheelchair access. Let me know if you go and how it went! Sal

I used to live in Enfield and would often take the children to Forty Hall and have a picnic. There was a cafe there too. If you are in to plants/flowers/gifts etc, you have Crews Hill to wander up and down in. You could go to the Plough pub for lunch at the end of the road opposite Jolly's where they have lots of animals for sale. There is also Whitewebbs and Trent Park. Jo.

Have you done the London Eye yet? The access is on ramps. Janice

Have you ever been to Hatfield House? I don't have a wheelchair, but do have a pushchair and manage quite well there. You could call them to check about access, but there are some beautiful gardens, and a nice restaurant. If you drive and like animals, Whipsnade Wild Animal Park has a gorgeous new baby elephant. You can drive within easy reach of all the enclosures, and the cafe has ramps and a disabled loo. Near there is Dunstable Downs--nice to just sit and watch the kites flying. Further afield, the New Forest is nice, and Norfolk. Let us know where you decide! Sal

Hello Fi, Whereabouts are you? I'm sure we can all get some ideas together if you tell us what part of the country you are in. Hope the weather is good for you!
