Did you look yourself Margaret, or did you trust him!! ;-D Just know that my husband gets in a panic (although he would deny this!) when he can't find something and then when I go back and search calmly, usually the missing item miraculously appears! What about his pockets or his briefcase/toolbox (dunno what he does for a living!). I don't suppose they are still on top of his head!!!!!?? Let us know what happens! Maz. XX

I sympathise, I lost my prescription glasses last year in the car. I searched everywhere and concluded they must have fallen out of the car when parked as I have a bad habit of just slotting them into the door pocket if I'm in a hurry, and not putting them back in the case. After several weeks of managing on my prescription sunglasses - not too good for nightime driving! - I finally went to the opticians and got a new pair. The next day I found the pair I'd lost! I'd managed to put it in the same glasses case as my sunglasses and despite looking at it had not recognised it as my current pair. Was I mad with myself? Not half. Angela

Make him retrace his steps first!!! Most people will hang on to a pair of lost glasses once they know they are prescription, as they know someone will be desperately searching for them! Maz. XX

Margaret, you can certainly claim on your household contents insurance (well, I suppose it might depend on the individual company). My mum has made two genuine claims for lost and broken glasses on her policy. Good luck, Mandy :)

Did you pay with a credit card? You may be able to claim from them. If he lost them, case and all, they may have been returned to the opticians - well you never know!!
