Hi Everyone, Has anyone got any jokes or something. I am quite fed up at the moment. My family tree is not moving anywhere, waiting for people to get back to me. Work is very busy at the moment aswell. Home life is OK, trying to start a family for ages now and what seems to be easy for most women it isn't for me. Trying to keep my chin up but really hard Sorry to sound off just needed to get it off my chest Natalie

Hi Nat Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down at the mo. How long have you been trying to start a family? I didn't get pregnant instantly either. Infact in both cases I had given up and wasn't really thinking about it when I did get caught. I think that's probably the secret. I'll send you my top tip for getting pregnant. Both of my children were conceived in the same way. Hope it brings a smile to your face! lol Jeanette x

Hi Nat, I know exactly how you feel about your tree. At this moment I hate my family as all information is there at their fingertips but will they lift one finger to help? Nooooooooooooo!! I know that's not what you want to hear but it makes me feel better. As for starting a family, try and relax about it. Get yourself an "ovulating thermometer "and when the time is right have a candle lite dinner and a bottle of champagne. The secret ingredient is "no stress." Lindy;-))

Natalie 1. Be glad you are busy at work, it helps take your mind off things. 2. Family trees are very frustrating, but there are kind people who help, breakthroughs you make (made several myself when I'd almost given up) etc. Think how much you already know and how your ancestors would be amazed at what you've found out. 3. Getting pregnant - forget temperature charts, thermometers, choosing the right time etc. Bonk yourself senseless, then you know you have a great chance, you will feel de-stressed and once you've had a baby you may never get the chance again!!!

Hi Natalie try not to get to down, getting pregnant is easy for some and others take a little while longer, try to relax have a good drink and a good time it will happen for you. this may make you laugh though it involves baby. i decided to take my grandaughter for a walk to the bank and library, katie is nearly 5 months, i was mistaken as her mum four times today which made me feel good. i'm 42 went to the library which is very small, and katie decided she was going to fill her nappy, loads of grunts and groans and then a horrendous smell, i had to make a quick exit, to get her home to change her when mt daughter phones from work, i told her and she just laughed, lol sandra

Hi Natalie, Have you got a holiday booked this year? My daughter came back from the Dominican Republic with more than a tan - could work for you too!! Try telling yourself that you can't possibly afford to get pregnant at the moment - that could work! You say that you are very busy now could that be part of the problem? Sometimes stress does funny things to our bodies. Perhaps you could take (com)passionate leave??

Planning something else which a baby would completely mess up has done the trick for quite a few people I know. It is very difficult though, two of my friends are going through IVF at the moment and that sounds like a full time job in itself. Try to make sure you are doing the basics (don't smile yet!) I meant folic acid and multivitamins, sleep, cut out caffeine and cut down alcohol (with some people it can inhibit conception). In one of Lord Robert Winston's books he says that if you do it every day for a month then you should probably get pregnant. If you don't then it is time to ask your GP. Don't be fobbed off by "well, let's wait six months and see how you go" tell him all the gory details. The more info you go with the less chance there is of someone saying that it is early days and that most people get pregnant within 18 months of trying. I find that by doing something proactive I can lift the miserable feelings a bit. Best of luck, Abigail

Hi Natalie Lots of good advice already. The phrase that struck me in your original message was, "what seems to be easy for most women it isn't for me." My wife and I were trying to have children for ages. In the end we went to the docs. We had a problem - I had no sperm!! Funny now but not then. Anyway, we've got a wonderful 3 yr old son now. The wonders of science! It's really easy to get your partner checked out. Try that, as well as enjoying each other's company.
