My nana collected some. I don't know their names though. When she died she passed them on to Dad, and excuse the morbidity but I will no doubt inherit them. I love them!! The oldest one is 1811 with good old Mag King George III on the back. She has this huge silver one, with a horse and a man on it raising his sword, dated 1892. One of my favourites, in greak nick! I have my own pathetic collection, a 50 pence piece that marked the 50th anniversary of D-Day, and some old half penny bits etc. Oldest coin in my collection is 1942!!!! LOL. Not very old. I just love to imagine how many hands they have been through, the stories they could tell! Chloe

Hi Chloe - no leaving your roller blades on the stairs just because you covet your dad's collection ! We've got quite a few boxed sets and get commemorative crowns for our grandaughter - hope she appreciates them when she grows up like you obviously appreciate yours.

We try to keep one of each coin produced. The favourite is the 3d bit. Also collect coins from each country visited which has been spoilt a bit now with the Euro! Jacky :-)

We now collect different Euro coins. There really are such a lot. We are now going to do away with our 1 and 2 Eurocent coins and the prices will be levelled off. We all know which way the prices will be levelled off! Finland never did have 1 and 2 cent Eurocoins. Sylvia
