We went to Haven last year and it was much the same....was so bad we came home after 3 days, We would rather go without a holiday than edure that again. We were there when a man jumped from the cliff...maybe he had been staying there to!

We went to Haven in Devon and it sounds similar. We took our own caravan and for the privilege of £40 per night had a muddy hilly pitch, yucky toilets and a family with a particularly choice use of words who chose to use them at 1.00am. Poop entertainment and loads of slot/gamling machines.Nice!!!! Penny

Oh ,dear Elaine, you have had a rotten time havn,t you?I went to Butlins for the day whilst visiting my mother who lived in Huttoft ,on the way to the town to do a bit shopping. It was drizzling [suprise] so we decided to have our dinner and then spend some time in the amusements. It was horrible ,but this was 6 years ago and i thought it would have been sorted by now.The last time we holidayed there we went to haven ,and it was brill,so maybe Butlins has had it,s day,but you have to admit Lincs is a lovely county ,and the people are fantastic.Fred.

What a bummer, excuse the pun! Re the Bank I suggest you write to Chairman and complain. I did when it happened to me and got the money refunded. Always go to the top! Gerry

Elaine, Sorry to hear about your 'holiday'. I've had a few like that when the kids were young. Now I only 'visit' rellies who live at the seaside. Heaven. Get spoilt something rotten. As for your bank story. Words fail me. Greedy b......s aren't they? Still you're home now and there's no place like it. Jean x.

Hi Elaine, welcome home! Sorry to say that after 5 years, we gave up on Butlins 2 years ago - we had damp, smelly accomodation and beds like concrete blocks. The redcoats were clueless and service non-existent. Kids don't care but its OUR holiday too! Also, Butlins is not a cheap hoilday anymore - and the food if you go half board is AWFUL!! And I know what you mean about the other guests!!! None of this will make you feel any better I know, but lets just hope the summer finally comes to the south east and you can get a nice tan in the garden instead! At least the food will be good and the beds clean! Maz. XX

Tried Butlins at Skeggy about 4 years ago, after it had been revamped....NEVER AGAIN!! Cold and damp room and that was the better accomodation. Food started out okay but by the end of the weekend they had started to run out of things. Swimming pool changing rooms were appalling and you could forget about going on the slides..the queue was an hour long. SO SO SO DEPRESSING. JAY

We went to Pontins at Camber Sands a few weeks ago. And it was abysmal. The accomodation was awful, it smelt, the carpet was filthy and the sofa bed was like sleeping on an ironing board. The kitchen was a joke, all the crockery mismatched, you couldn't tell what ring was on the cooker until it heated up. Came home with a bad back, totally fed up. To top it all we heard on the last night that there were only 500 people on the site, previous week, half ter, there were 2,500. They could have upgraded people to better apartments. It was the pits. Really couldn't believe Pontins was that bad. We were lucky that the weather wasn't too bad. Diane

Back home from Butlins.>>>>>>>>>>2 weeks of.... Blooming rain.........sub standard entertainment that finished early & started late.....holes in bedlinen......families as rough as bog paper made from sandpaper, shouting, banging, swearing, fighting,....vandalism by the same people of kiddy rides,....To cap it all I had a nasty tummy bug ( bum on bog & head in a carrier bag !}>>> {picture the scene ! )....... came home to find the phone is knackered & the bank has charged my account with £125 for the first time I have ever gone over my limit in my entire life ! ( & I had to pay it ! ) Im just thankfull that we are all safe & well... Elaine x
