Hi Jay I'm 40 next year and I don't care! lol. It's only a number. I also found being 30 a worse prospect than being 40. Jeanette

Cheers Mandy, not depressed about it, just thoughtful. My hubby had cancer last year and I've loads to be thankful for. Just seem to reminise a lot (is that how you spell that?LOL) Jay

Hello again Jay, I was 40 earlier this year and starting to get a bit miserable about the thought of it. So I decided to have several celebrations to take my mind off it as much as possible, which I did and had a brilliant time. Then sadly I lost my best friend to cancer and thought 'I'll never moan about being 40 again because she didn't even make it to 35'. However, I must say that I don't feel any different at all, it's not as bad as I thought, and I'm having a pretty good year!! I would like to stress though that I'm not actually 40 at all - I'm 18 with 22 years' experience ... keep that thought in mind LOL. Mandy :)

well i'm approaching 60, and feel quite happy with the age i'm at, just forget about age. Has anyone else been asked their age out of the blue, and you've had to stop and do some mental arithmetic? Val

Have turned 36, for the second time today. Yep, I've wound the clock back, will stay 36 until I'm 39, then may become 37. That should stave off 40 for at least six or seven years!!!!!! Steph xx

I will be 48 in three weeks' time. I don't know whether life was better before 40, or if turning 40 was better/worse than turning 30 because I can't remember! I do know that when I look at photos of myself aged 30ish I think how young/slim I was and I am still doing that at 40ish - except that I am older/fatter than at 30, but just younger/thinner than I am now. Just try to enjoy the age you are. Inside I feel about 8 years old> Helen

I always thought it was a bit silly, you know, people who got a midlife crisis at 40--- well that was until I found myself rapidly heading towards it screaming and kicking. Anyone got any advice that doesn't involve getting old gracefully? lol lol
