just wondering if i wanted a marriage cert for 1816 would i have to parish records if so has anybody got use of parish records to yorkshire chris

No marriage certificates before July 1837 when Civil Registration came in. Before that only parish records. They do not give name of either parents for a marriage, and only the full name of the father for a birth. A Latter Day Saints (Mormon) Family History Centre will be able to get film copies of parish records in for you for a very small fee, these are then viewed at one of their Centres. Anne - Melbourne

Christine It is West Yorkshire so unfortuantely I can't help. Try putting a shout out on the Records board to see if anybody is going. If you ever need any help in East Yorkshire I'll try and do my best. Jeanette
