Hi there, I still find contacts in my contacts list from time to time without ever having had their email in my inbox. And the death of my pc a month ago - along with all my mail messages/addresses - also wiped out lots of stuff that I hadn't had time to answer. So if I'm on anyone's list for not replying to messages, try me again. I promise I always try to reply quickly even if I have nothing to offer and if you have to wait it is because I am overloaded with work or away. Angela

same here - I went on to another site and the same names came up plus extra - I know this person is researching the same family as me ...a reply...NO Why put your name on numerous sites and then ignore emails? Even a reply to say 'get lost' is better than no reply at all!!!!!

I like to think the best of people. although a similar thing has happened to me.I was in regular contact with a chap in Warrington and then for some reason he just stopped his contact and I thought that we were getting on extremely well. Despite me sending several Emails asking in the friendliest way why. I have had no reply, so it looks as if sadly I will be deleting him from my contact sheet. And I don't like giving up on people. I had a wonderful time, Bryan, thank you. I love living near the New Forest, but I'd love to live there, too. So excited was I to see my first home, infants school, park nearby!! Joy

I have just come online looked at my emails and thought like you why oh why can they not just say no connection, like you I had contacted a definate blood 2nd relative on here, only to be told he had only put his name on here because he was bored! but he didnt keep in touch with 1st cousins so couldnt see why he should with 2nd , I suppose at least he replied after some prompting but its so frustrating,. One of the great things about these boards is so many helpful friendly people takes the sting out of the disapointments. I feelbetter now perhaps I will go email someone. sandra

Just agreeing with everyone else Brian. The number of people i have contacted over the las year and only a very small proportion have the decency to reply. Why do they bother to put there information on the site if they don,t want people to answer. It is so frustrating especially when you think that you have found a link. Val

Yes, Bryan, I agree, all they have to do is say sorry I see no connection. We tried to contact someone in April - no reply. There has to be a connection because of the unusual surname and the geographical area. I have asked the powers that be at GC is the person is still subscribed? and they have told me the person is and to try again. So I have tried again. Watch this space!! Joy PS I was back in Beckenham on Sunday! It was brilliant to be 'home'!!

Hi Daphne, I've been going through my list of ins and outs in my mailbox and find that I e-mailed you wrongly. I mailed "Daphne6@" instead of "Daphneh6@". Just a human error. I'm going to the opticians tomorrow for new glasses, so should be better in the future. Love Sylviaxx Am I forgiven?

Daphne, I know that you were referring to me. I would never receive an e-mail and not reply. I have sent you at least 2 e-mails - maybe 3. Must check up on this! I don't know what is happening here. Must be the gremlins! Anyway, I can thank you again, here on the Board to say thank you for the photos you sent me of Diana's memorial. I was so pleased with them. Thank you once again, Sylvia

I've had the same thing happen to me several times now and yes it is bad manners. What I don't understand is why are they members of GC in the first place? I thought we were all on here helping each other. Jo.

that is sad janet, ive only contacted about thirty people from these boards, but everyone, has been so kind, and helpful to me. as i said,it just takes a couple of mins to reply to anyone, and there is no excuse for bad manners. bryan.

about six weeks ago,i was really excited, cos i thought i had a breakthrough,on my welsh side, the contact, lets say was mr x,so i emailed him,but no reply! then a few weeks ago,i was sure i had found someone else, went to email them, and again the contact was mr x...so it looks as if ime on the right track, but again,i had no reply. why do they do this, how long does it take to press the reply key...and just say..no.. bryan.
