Louise, could you do me a favour?? What is the name of the place beside the M8 at Livingston? its like a Brewer's Fayre place......thought we could have meet up there as its fairly central to the motorways whichever way you go!! I'd rather fone up and book then just turn up and not have enough room for everyone! Cheers Jill x

Date fine for me -I could take people from Glasgow. Rosalyn

Louise Report 23 Jul 2004 09:19

Well if its Livingston area it will certainly be convenient for me lol. Only problem I may have is it being during the day. I'm about to start a new job on rotational shifts and that sometimes means working Saturdays. Evenings are more convenient for me getting a lift too as my other half is at work all day too. But don't worry about that, as everyone has said, can't please us all. I'll keep an eye on the arrangements and if I can I'll be there, otherwise I'm sure there will be other times. Lou

Hi Eileen, I know how Jill feels as I arranged it last year and wanted everyone to be there. Can you maybe find out were you can get a train to around Livingston/Grangemouth then I am sure we can find a place to meet close to the train station or one of us will pick you up from there? I am also sure there must me members on here from Glasgow who wouldn't mind picking you up from there. Where are all you people from Glasgow, the biggest city in Scotland :o)) Hope you can make it. Regards Margaret

Thanks for the offer Jill, but I would prefer to get home if I could. So dont worry about me, go ahead and make the arrangements and I will see if I can get there. Don't feel bad!! You can't possibly please everyone!!! Hubby might even drive me there as I'm a nervous wreck driving through Glasgow and would rather get the train. lol Will keep in touch anyway. Eileen

Eileen...would it make things easier if you could stay over with someone??? I dont mind you staying here the night... I dont mean to be awkward to you but most people seem to be mid or east coast...god I hate being the one who is organising things cos it makes me feel bad if the arrangement doesnt suit everyone! Jill x

Don't know whether I can make that location. Have a 30 min. ferry crossing, then 45 min. train to Glasgow, then whatever train to Livingston. So I'll have a think! Eileen.

Okies here we go!!! How about Saturday 28th August!!?? Is everyone available to meet for lunch that day? The other thing is......having checked through the list of interested folks..... the majority seem to come from the East coast. Would it suit everyone to meet kind of in the middle (Livingston area)? Think Margaret said they'd met there before! Judith, Melissa, and Ron I dont know where abouts you are! Either post message here or you can contact me directly. Hopefully we can all manage and have a good day out!! Jill x

Hi Jill, I think that a lunch-time weekend meet up would be best. Gives people time to get there and time to get home again without having to arrange accomodation. It would also save people like myself who are working full time from taking a day off. I know it's not easy finding a date to suit all. Been there - done that :o)) Regards Margaret

Hi I live in Dunfermline and am really keen to meet up with everone. The only problem I have is that I am having to go on holiday with my mum on 2nd Aug until approx 7th.She has gone to Blackpool for the last 18 years or so and wants to return to meet up with close friends and with my dad having passed away on 1st May does not want to go alone so I feel I have to go although I do not really like Blackpool. If the date is before or after the above dates count me in if not hopefully we will have another at xmas time and I can attend then.I do not drive so we love to share a car with someone and pay toward the petrol
