Hi Morfydd, I know how you feel and it does get better. Our eldest left two years ago to study up north but decided to change courses and is back home again. He has just finished his final extrance exams and is waiting for the results to apply at the University of the Algarve. He is convinced that he will get a placement. I truely hope so as he will be closer to home. Hugs, Lindy

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. Yvette, hope you're feeling ok, we have our own lonely Mams club. He's phoned me loads, couldn't get to sleep last night until his last phone call, he seems to be enjoying it, lectures start this afternoon though, see how he is this evening. I have a problem with the dog though, he's so depressed, either waiting by the front door or the garden gate, roll on Friday. M.

Morfyyd I know how you feel, my son is off to America tomorrow morning, its only for two weeks but i am really going to miss him. At 17 its the first time he has gone abroad without us, and i am trying really hard to be brave and not let him see how worried i am as i want him to have the best time ever. Its never easy letting go of your kids especially when you get on so well with them. My daughter left home last year and it was awful, however we often joke now that we see more of her now than when she was living at home. I hope your son has a wonderful time at the Summer Uni. I know how you feel. When my eldest son left to join the Navy, I cried for two days. Jo.

Aw Morfydd, sending you some big hugs and sympathy. I also get on very well with my son, he's a real 'home' person so I know I would miss him dreadfully if he were away for very long. But at least he's phoned you - that's pretty good for a teenage boy! Just look forward to your weekends together. Love Mandy x

Today is the day my son has left me and gone to Aberystwyth Summer University for six weeks. He will come home on Friday evenings and go back on Monday mornings. I am missing him so much already and it's only been 12 hours since he left. He's phoned me and told me he has a lovely sea view from his bedroom window, and he's going to a disco tonight in the students union. I really hope he enjoys himself, he's worked so hard for his AS levels. I am not looking forward to him being away though, he's a quiet boy, but he's lovely company at home. I have always loved school holidays and having the children at home, so I really envy all you Mam and Dads now summer is here. Well thats my grumbles over and thank you all for listening. M.
