My daughter had her tonsils out yesterday morning - she is not so young anymore, 46 years of age - and was allowed to go home the same day. I think this is very quick. I also asked when she has to go back to the doctor, and was told that she doesn't. No check ups anymore! Sylvia

I wish I could help her but she is a bit too far away. I've given instructions to her partner. My granddaughter was with her mother today too. She cannot talk at the moment so cannot phone her either. Anyway she seems to be doing ok. Sylvia

hi sylvia, even though our hospitals are short of beds in london, i would find it strange, that a patient of that age, would not be kept in over night,as a precaution. you need to keep a careful watch over her,for the next ten days, and try to avoid anyone breathing into her face. cold drinks a plenty...ice cream is excellent...forget about diets for a week, she will lose a little weight naturally following the surgery. any sign of high temperature,or throat closure......call a doctor straight away. hope she gets better soon.....bryan.

I keep phoning my daughter's partner and my daughter seems ok. I was a bit scared she was let out of hospital too soon, especially as she is prone to setbacks. She had 4 weeks in hospital for her appendix out as she had an infection and a navel operation, also had an infection. Anyway, all seems to be fine. Thank you for your concern. Sylvia
