Jude, I did put the poem on for you and Lady, but I did'nt want to make it that obvious so I'm glad you found it. I'm thinking of you and know exactly what you are going through. I still get upset for my Katy and she went 5 years ago. What I did is to have her cremated, then last year I bought a rose bush called 'Sweet Memories'. Then I got a big blue pot and planted the rose bush in with her ashes. I had a plaque made as well. I don't know if that idea will help you. God Bess, Jo.x.x.

Jude, I think Joan's poem says it all, you have made a brave deciscion for Lady, she will be free from pain, with those she loves around her. My thoughts are with you and your family. Sheila

jude I am so sorry, try to be strong honey, i think you are doing the right thing, and how nice for lady to be with the ones she loves when she goes to heaven, i know its hard, it broke my heart when i had to make the decision for remy. Hi - l have just taken a very large deep breath and have also read the lovely poem from Joan:o(( Sadly we had a phone call from vets this morning and Lady has bone cancer in her shoulder. As you can imagine l had to make various phone calls to hubby, son and daughter.Daughter lives in London and said "l'm on my way", she will be picked up about 2.30 from railstation and son will be here a little later. The vets will be here this afternoon to put Our Lady to sleep. l have her home now and she's in the back garden, quite restless cause she hates the anisthetic. We had already made up our minds if anything like this happened we would have her cremated and scatter her ashes on her favourite shingle beach along the river Wye. l have cried so much this morning and will be for a while to come. My sister and her hubby have been here and said their goodbyes. This dog is so loved and will be so missed, l really can't believe whats about to happen. Will speak to you al later. jude s wales x

Thank you again for your lovely caring replies: She's just had another small meal,she was looking at us in her way that said "l'm hungry" she can still have one more small one before 10pm. She usually has 4 meals a day cause her stomach juices play up, if we don't spread them out she'll keep eating grass to make herself sick - she's asleep now. Loved all the cuddles and hugs earlier. Di l am sorry about your 2 dogs. l stayed with my 19yr old cat in March - infact when we got to vets he was dealing with another emergancy and my cat was getting upset in the basket, so l took her out and showed her all the posters and told her what they were (mad or what), but it calmed her down and l then stayed with her till she was fast asleep and out of pain. Off now, will let you know tomorrow as soon as we know, probably won't be until atleast 2pm - fingers crossed!!! Jude s wales xx

Just a quick update - Lady is a tadge better this afternoon,very slow still and needs tlc,but she actually had a bit of energy and got her ball to play with, we could'nt believe our eyes - she could'nt move much, but did her usual growling when we grabbed it in her mouth. She's eaten 2 more small meals, her last for today will be about 9pm. Thank you all for your lovely messages, l'll go and give her all your hugs now:o))) she'll like that:o) she'll like the mud as well Daphne. Jude s wales xx

Hello Jude,so sorry to hear your dog is poorly. Having lost my dog due to a stroke a few weeks ago I know exactly how you feel. I really do hope everything goes ok and I will pray for Lady. Best wishes to you and a hug for Lady Sue x
