1920's Passports - does anyone know if....

Thanks Isobel and Kirsten, I shall ask passport office if they may supply me with details. My Mum has been dead for 20 years so should not be a problem I hope. Many thanks for your replies, Sandra

I went digging for my grandfather's passport, but it's from 1948 and from when he was in Pakistan. Sorry, I can't help you.

Hi All, Does anybody know if with the old passports with large photos around 1927 used to be stamped and also embossed with FOREIGN OFFICE. Does this mean the person has been abroad or not. The reason I ask is I have the photo of my mum when she was 19 years old which came off her passport which my Dad tore up when my mum died. My sister rescued the photo. When I was quite young I remember looking inside and it was stamped with Australia stamp. But everyone denied that she had been. HAD SHE? Family secrets? Thanks, Sandra
